El Sistema is a publicly financed, voluntary sector, music-education program, founded in Venezuela in 1975 by Venezuelan educator, musician, and activist José Antonio Abreu. It later adopted the motto "Music for Social Change." El Sistema-inspired programs provide what the International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies describes as "free classical music education that promotes human opportunity and development for impoverished children." By 2015, according to official figures, El Sistema included more than 400 music centers and 700,000 young musicians. The original program in Venezuela involves four after-school hours of musical training and rehearsal each week, plus additional work on the weekends. Most El Sistema-inspired programs in the United States provide seven or more hours of instruction per week, as well as free use of an instrument.

He is currently the music director and conductor of the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra and has been the conductor at the Anna Livia Dublin International Opera Festival. Since 2012 Gleeson is also music director & conductor of the Rachmaninov Festival Orchestra. Since January 2016 Gleeson is Principal Guest Conductor or The Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Harbin, China. He also composes musical scores for film and television and of symphonic music for the concert hall.
The Pasadena Symphony and POPS is an American orchestra based in Pasadena, California. In 2010 it took up residence at the Ambassador Auditorium, where its Classics Series runs from October through April. Since 2012 it performs a summer series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden from June through September.
The Santa Cecilia Orchestra, Spanish: 'Orquesta Santa Cecilia', is an American symphony orchestra. It was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1993 by Sonia Marie De León de Vega, who has since then been the principal conductor. The orchestra performs chamber music and full orchestral concerts at the Thorne Hall, part of Occidental College in Eagle Rock, California. Its two-year music education program, Discovering Music, is currently offered in 16 elementary schools throughout Los Angeles.

Elmer Hollis Ramsey was the founder and conductor of Conejo Symphony Orchestra, which was a precursor to the New West Symphony. He also established the Conejo Pops Orchestra. Ramsey was a professor at California Lutheran University from 1965 to 1992. He was the co-founder of the local Oakleaf Music Festival and instrumental in the development of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
Stephanie Lin Wilson, CFRE is an American theatre director, arts advocate, and non-profit fundraiser. She served as a commissioner for the City of Thousand Oaks Cultural Affairs Commission until 2020 and is the artistic director of Gold Coast Performing Arts Association. She is also the Deputy Director of the New West Symphony.
The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony (LAJS) is a non-profit orchestra based in Los Angeles, California, that specializes in presenting music of the Jewish experience. Founded in 1994, the symphony is led by Dr. Noreen Green, the Artistic Director and Conductor.
