Nicholas Paspaley Jr. (born 1948) is an Australian businessman of Greek descent, and is chair of the Paspaley Group of Companies. [1]
During the First World War, his family fled the Greek island of Castellorizo. His father, Nicholas Paspaley Sr. (MBE), starting work in the pearling industry at age 14 in Western Australia, and purchased a pearl lugger by the age of 21. [1] [2]
His son James Paspaley is CEO of Paspaley Pearling Company.
Nicholas modernised traditional pearling methods, which were initiated by his father and his father's Japanese business partners. [1] He is a member of the board of CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation [1]
In 1999, Paspaley Jr. for his services to Australia's export industry, was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC). [3]
