Nicholas Akins is the chief executive officer (CEO) and president of American Electric Power (AEP), a major investor-owner electric utility in the United States. [1] [2]
Akins is the tenth president and sixth CEO in AEP's history and has served in that capacity since 2010. Akins serves as the only management representative on the AEP board of directors. From 2006 to 2010, Akins served as AEP's executive vice president of generation. From 2004 to 2006, Akins served as president and chief operating officer for Southwestern Electric Power Company. Prior to that, Akins served as vice president of energy marketing services and before that vice president of industry restructuring for AEP. Akins rose through the ranks at Central and South West Corp. (CSW) before the company merged with AEP in 2000. Akins earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 1982 and his master's degree also in electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech in 1986.
Akins is the immediate past chairman and a member of the board of directors of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). He is also a member of the boards of American Coalition of Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE), Edison Electric Institute (EEI), Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), National Association of Manufacturers, Mid-Ohio Foodbank, Greater Columbus Arts Council, and the Wexner Center for the Arts. He also serves on several subsidiary boards of AEP.
Akins is a native of Louisiana. He and his wife Donna live in New Albany, Ohio.

Previously he was the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of ABB Group. He was also the Managing Director of Global Technology R&D at Accenture. Prith started his early career in academia as a Professor at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University.
Glen F. Post III was the chief executive officer and president of CenturyLink, an S&P 500 integrated communications service provider based out of Monroe, Louisiana. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1974 at Louisiana Tech University and an MBA in 1976 at Louisiana Tech. Post joined CenturyTel in 1976. He was named vice president in 1982 and was promoted to senior vice president and treasurer in 1984. He was appointed to the CenturyTel board of directors in 1985, and the following year he was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer. In 1988 Post was named executive vice president and chief operating officer. He became the president and chief operating officer of CenturyTel in 1990. In 1992 Post was named vice chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer. In 2002 he was appointed chairman of the board and chief executive officer. Since 2009 Post has served as chief executive officer and president of CenturyLink. His honors include: Louisiana Tech College of Administration and Business Distinguished Alumni in 1991, Louisiana Tech University Tower Medallion Award in 1997 and DeGree Enterprises Lifetime Achievement Award in Business 2003.
James Eugene Rogers Jr. was an American businessman and author. He was president and CEO of Duke Energy, the largest electrical utility in the U.S., from April, 2006 until July 1, 2013. He stayed on as Chairman of the Board until retiring the following December. His book, Lighting the World, which explores the issues involved in bringing electricity to over 1.2 billion people on earth who lack it, was published August 25, 2015, by St. Martin's Press. The book asserts that access to electricity should be recognized as a basic human right.

Christopher Daniel Pappas is a special advisor to the CEO of Trinseo S.A., a Berwyn-based global materials company that manufactures plastics, latex, and synthetic rubber, among others. Pappas previously served as the company's president and chief executive officer, beginning in June 2010 when the Dow Chemical Company sold a group of its businesses and assets to Bain Capital under the name Styron. Pappas retired from the position of CEO as of March 4, 2019.
