Nick Barat [3] (born January 25, 1981), [1] better known by his stage name Nick Catchdubs, is an American record producer and DJ from New Jersey. [4] He is a co-founder of Fool's Gold Records. [5] [6] He has also served as an associate editor at The Fader . [7] In 2013, Stereogum called him "the best party DJ in the game right now." [8] He resides in Brooklyn, New York. [9]

Career

In 2012, Barat released After Hours, a collaborative mixtape with rapper Jackie Chain. [10] It was chosen by Stereogum as their Mixtape of the Week. [11] In that year, he performed live with Danny Brown at the MoMA PS1's Warm Up. [12] In 2013, he released his first single, "Bizness", which featured vocal contributions from Iamsu! and Jay Ant. [13] In 2014, he released "Wuts That", a single which featured rapper B.I.C. [14] In 2015, he released his first studio album, Smoke Machine. [15] It featured guest appearances from the likes of Troy Ave, Heems, Iamsu!, and Jay Ant. [16] Consequence of Sound gave the album a grade of B−, calling it "a damn good record to spin at a party this summer." [17] In 2019, he released a studio album, UFO. [18]

Himanshu Kumar Suri, better known by his stage name Heems, is an American rapper from Queens in New York City. Best known for being part of the alternative hip hop group Das Racist, Suri is also the founder of Greedhead Music, an independent record label. In 2012, Suri released his first solo mixtape, Nehru Jackets, on his Greedhead imprint and in conjunction with SEVA NY, a community-based organization from Queens of which Suri is a board member. In August 2015, Heems announced that Fox had bought his story rights for a potential sitcom, and that he was working on the pilot. He is currently a member of Swet Shop Boys along with actor and rapper Riz MC and producer Redinho.

Greedhead Music is an independent record label founded by Himanshu Suri of Das Racist. Initially, Suri founded Greedhead Music as a management and recording company in 2008 to manage Das Racist. Greedhead's first releases were the group's 2010 mixtapes, Shut Up, Dude and Sit Down, Man. Das Racist's first commercially available album, Relax, was also the first commercial release on the Greedhead imprint. Greedhead has since released solo mixtapes by both Kool A.D. and Heems. The label has also released works by Dash Speaks, Weekend Money, Keepaway, Lakutis, Big Baby Gandhi, Le1f, Antwon, and Meyhem Lauren, as well as non-hip-hop acts like singer Safe, Scottish bhangra act Tigerstyle, and comedian Joe Mande.

The Album About Nothing is the fourth studio album by American rapper Wale. It was released on March 31, 2015, by Allido Records, Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records. The album serves as a continuation of Wale's Seinfeld-themed mixtape series. Recording sessions took place between 2013 and 2015. The production on the album was handled by multiple producers including Frank Dukes, Jake One, Sonny Digital, DJ Dahi, Pro Reese and DJ Khalil among others. The album also features guest appearances by J. Cole, Jeremih, Usher and SZA.

Sudan Ameer Williams, better known by his stage name Iamsu!, is an American rapper and record producer from Richmond, California. He is the lead member of the hip hop group the HBK Gang, which was formed in 2008 and joined by fellow Bay Area artists including Kehlani and Sage the Gemini. He is best known for his guest appearances on Sage the Gemini's 2013 single "Gas Pedal" and LoveRance's 2011 single "Up!," both of which peaked within the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100. He signed with Alternative Distribution Alliance to release his debut studio album Sincerely Yours (2014), which moderately entered the Billboard 200 and received mixed reviews.

The HBK Gang is an American hip-hop collective based in San Francisco Bay Area. Founded by Iamsu!, Chief, Skipper, and P-Lo in 2008, members also include singer Kehlani and rapper-producers Sage the Gemini, IsThatCJ, Rossi, Dave Steezy, Jay Ant, and Kool John. After contributing to various mixtapes, including Iamsu's Kilt II, in August 2013, the group released their debut mixtape, Gang Forever. HBK Gang Records is the name of an associated independent record label.

Courtney Everald Dewar Jr., better known by his stage name Capital Steez, was an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He was a founder of the Brooklyn-based rap collective Pro Era, along with childhood friend Joey Badass. Capital Steez was also a co-founder of the Beast Coast movement, which consists of three main groups based in Flatbush: Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and The Underachievers. Capital Steez committed suicide on December 23, 2012, jumping from the roof of the Cinematic Music Group headquarters aged 19. Both Pro Era and Beast Coast went on to gain international success in the years following his death.
