Nicholas Chad Cowburn (born 7 March 1995) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a Midfielder (association football) for Gold Coast United FC. [1]
Cowburn first started his youth career at Toronto Awaba Stags before joining the Newcastle jets in 2011. Cowburn has made 47 first team appearances for The Jets since 2014. In January 2016, Cowburn, penned a two-season contract with The Jets. [2]
Nick's father, Brett Cowburn, played in the NSL for Newcastle KB United, and his brother also appeared in the NSL for Newcastle Jets in the 2003–04 season. [3]
Newcastle United Jets Football Club, commonly known as Newcastle Jets, is an Australian professional soccer club based in Newcastle, New South Wales. A-League Youth, formerly known as the National Youth League and Y-League, is an Australian national soccer youth developmental and under-21s league, founded by Football Federation Australia and now run by the Australian Professional Leagues. The current league was established as a successor to the previous competition of the National Youth League (1984–2004) and commenced in August 2008. The league runs in conjunction with the A-League Men as a developmental or reserve league.
