The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards Mexico is an annual awards show that awards entertainers with a blimp trophy, as voted by children on the Internet. The show is usually held in September and televised days later through Nickelodeon.

Editions

2010 edition

In June 2010, Viacom gave the rights for Mexico to release their own version of the Kids' Choice Awards. The awards ceremony took place on 4 September 2010 at "El Teatro Chino de Six Flags" (The Chinese Theater of Six Flags) of the Six Flags México park. It was presented by Omar Chaparro and Anahí. [2] The show was not televised until 14 October 2010. The award show was a low-budget production. Presented via a 'giant screen' were special messages from the cast of iCarly (Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy, Nathan Kress, Jerry Trainor and Noah Munck), and Canadian singer Justin Bieber in acceptance of their wins for the categories of Favorite TV Show and Favorite Song respectively.

2011 edition

Filmed on 3 September 2011 in Six Flags, Mexico, and premiered on September 22 at 7:30 p.m.. It was hosted by Danna Paola and Brian Amadeus from Moderatto. Some of the winners were Big Time Rush For Favorite International TV Show and Favorite International Artist, and Katy Perry for Favorite Song, and Grachi was the biggest winner of the night with three awards won, including Favorite TV Show.

2012 edition

It was confirmed a 3rd edition for the KCA México, it took place on Pepsi Center on 1 September 2012, and was first telecast on 18 September at 7 p.m., it was hosted by Jaime Camil, the greatest winner was Miss XV, some international winners were iCarly for Favorite International TV Show and One Direction for Favorite International Artist and Favorite Song.

2013 edition

The "Kids Choice Awards Mexico 2013" were held on 31 August 2013 at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City, Jaime Camil was the host again, and the Colombian categories were presented by Colombian actor Andrés Mercado. Some of the winners were Victorious for "Favorite TV Show", Big Time Rush for "Favorite International Artist" and One Direction for "Favorite Song". [3]

2014 edition

The awards ceremony were held on 20 September but aired on Nickelodeon on 25 September the hosts were singer Paty Cantú and presenter Roger González. [4]

2015 edition

The awards took place on 15 August 2015 at the National Auditorium, the presenters were the singers Maite Perroni and Mario Bautista. [5]

2016 edition

The awards were held on 20 August 2016 in Mexico City, the broadcast on Nickelodeon took place only on 23 August 2016, the presenters were Galilea Montijo and the colombian YouTuber Sebastián Villalobos, with musical performances of Dulce María, CD9, Sebastián Yatra, Urband 5 and Ha*Ash. [6]

2017 edition

The awards were held on 19 August 2017 in Mexico City, the broadcast on Nickelodeon took place only on 22 August 2017, the presenters were Mario Bautista and YouTuber Caeli, had music performances from Río Roma, Fifth Harmony, CNCO and Pitbull. [7]

2018 edition

The event took place on 18 August 2018 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City. It was broadcast by Nickelodeon Latin America on the 21st of August and was presented by the trio of YouTubers Lesslie Yadid, Ana Karen and Rafael Velázquez (Los Polinesios). [8]

2019 edition

The event took place on 17 August 2019 at the National Auditorium in Mexico City. It was broadcast on Nickelodeon Latin America on the 20th of August and was hosted by Youtuber La Bala and Jaime Camil for the third occasion. [9]

2020 edition

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event took place on 3 November 2020 in the format of a virtual show, it was presented by Camilo and Evaluna Montaner. [10]


2021 edition

The edition of the Kids' Choice Awards Mexico 2021 was held on September 7, 2021 through Nickelodeon. As in the previous year, the awards were held virtually and were hosted by internet personalities Bryan SKabeche, Eddy SKabeche and Fede Vigevani. The ceremony, in addition to being broadcast on the channel, was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook.

2022 edition

The edition of the Kids' Choice Awards México 2022 was held on August 30, 2022 through Nickelodeon. For the first time in 2 years, it will be face-to-face and will be hosted by personalities Alex Hoyer, Danna Paola and Luis de la Rosa. The ceremony, in addition to being broadcast on the channel, was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook on Pluto TV.

As the web show quickly becomes an internet phenomenon, the characters are tasked with balancing their normal teenage lives with the wacky situations their newfound fame lands them in. By the fourth season, their school friend Gibby also works with them on the web show.

The 23rd Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held on March 27, 2010, on the Nell and John Wooden Court of Pauley Pavilion, on the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles, California with Kevin James as host. With the launch of Nickelodeon Canada in late 2009, Canada broadcast the awards live as it aired in the Eastern, Central, and Mountain time zones of the United States and the awards was rebroadcast on YTV on April 2, 2010, at 7 p.m. ET. As a result, Canadian kids were able to vote on candidates for the first time. Nickelodeon's sister channels TeenNick and Nicktoons suspended regular programming during the 90-minute duration of the award show to allow viewers to see the awards.

Nominees were announced on February 10, 2011, for twenty categories. During the show, the Big Green Help Award was presented to Justin Timberlake, an honor given each year. The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Argentina, also known as the KCAAs and/or Kids Choice Awards Argentina, was an annual awards show that airs on Nickelodeon in Latin America. Its first edition was held on 11 October 2011 at the Microestadio Malvinas Argentinas. As in the original version, winners receive a hollow orange blimp figurine, a logo outline for much of the network's 1984-2009 era, which also functions as a kaleidoscope.

The 28th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held on March 28, 2015, at the Forum in Inglewood, California, and hosted by Nick Jonas. The show was broadcast at 8:00 PM (ET/PT), produced by Nickelodeon Productions, with a simulcast in the United States also carried across sister networks TeenNick, Nicktoons and TV Land, along with the network's mobile apps and website. It was led into by a double episode of The Thundermans. There were 4 new categories this year. Voting took place in six continents on 19 localized websites, along with various simulcasts across the world, on either live or tape-delayed. Despite the simulcast, the show suffered a deep drop from the 2014 ceremony, attracting approximately 3,630,000 million total viewers for the original American airing, a drop of 27% from year to year. TV sitcom Austin & Ally swept the KCAs, taking home 3 blimps; the series is the second from Disney Channel to win favorite kids show in KCA history.

The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Colombia was the Colombian edition of Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards, held in Bogotá. In 2017 the awards took place on September 30, nominees were announced on July 19, 2017.

The 30th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held on March 11, 2017, at the Galen Center on the University of Southern California campus in Los Angeles and was broadcast live on Nickelodeon and either live or with tape delay across all of Nickelodeon's international networks. John Cena hosted the ceremony. This is the earliest Kids' Choice Awards ceremony date to take place in the year, with the latest being the 1989 ceremony on June 25, 1989.

The 7th Annual Nickelodeon Argentina Kids' Choice Awards was held on 19 October 2017, at Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, and was broadcast on 21 October 2017 through Nickelodeon. Mercedes Lambre and Leandro Leunis hosted the ceremony. Lali and Isabella Castillo led nominations with three each, and also were the biggest winners of the night, along with Camila Cabello and Mica Viciconte, with two awards each. Susana Giménez received the Career Achievement Award.

The 32nd Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards ceremony was held on March 23, 2019, at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California with DJ Khaled serving as host. It aired live on Nickelodeon, and was broadcast live or tape delayed across all of Nickelodeon's international networks.

Isabella de La Torre Echenique better known as "Bala" is a Mexican singer. She started as a YouTuber when she was 11 years old, when she had the idea to shoot a video and her parents gave her support. On her channel, she mainly did sketches and parodies, although in the following years she began to do vlogs, musical parodies, challenges, jesting, etc. In 2019 she was chosen as a Nickelodeon ambassador in Latin America, and appeared in the Club 57 series. She has collaborated with other YouTubers such as Luisito Comunica, Berth Oh!, La Diversión de Martina among others. and amassed over four million subscribers on YouTube.

The 2021 Kids' Choice Awards Mexico took place on September 7, 2021, via Nickelodeon. The awards recognizes the greatest acts of Mexican pop culture, various artists from music, TV and Cinema. As in the previous year the awards were held virtually and were hosted by the internet personalities Bryan SKabeche, Eddy SKabeche and Fede Vigevani. The ceremony, in addition to being broadcast on the channel, was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook.
