Nicol & Marsh were an English soft rock duo which consisted of Ken Nicol and Peter Marsh.
Nicol & Marsh released two albums and several singles. Their debut album was 1974's Nicol and Marsh's Easy Street. [1] After the duo joined forces with Richard James Burgess, the trio became known as Easy Street. As the trio Easy Street, they released two albums, Easy Street in 1976 and Under the Glass in 1977.
After Easy Street's 1977 album Under the Glass, Nicol & Marsh released one last album in 1978, the eponymous Nicol & Marsh, [2] to which their partnership dissolved; an interview with Nicol implied that Marsh was moving in a different direction, saying: "...what happened is what happens to a lot of people, and you start to try other things, writing with other people and we were making too much of a departure from what was working originally. So then the album would seem too diverse; one track would appear very different to another because, say, Pete would have written it with the drummer." [3]
Both Nicol and Marsh went on to have successful solo careers as singer-songwriters, guitarists and producers, releasing solo material as well as becoming members of other bands and working with other artists. Among the bands Nicol was a member of are the Ashley Hutchings Dance Band, the Albion Band and Steeleye Span. Marsh was a member of the new wave bands Twist and Blanket of Secrecy.

He was a founding member of British folk rock group Fairport Convention and is the only founding member still in the band. He has also been involved with the Albion Band and a wide range of musical projects, both as a collaborator, producer and as a solo artist. He has received several awards for his work and career.

Blanket of Secrecy (BoS) was a short-lived English new wave band formed in 1982. The band was notable for the fact that its band members, true to their band name, were never officially identified at the time - only the pseudonyms Tinker, Tailor and Soldier were disclosed to refer to the main members - as well as mention of Spy. This led to some speculation in the music press regarding the true identity of the members, with rumours that they might be the Attractions and speculation that the lead singer was Jack Hues of Wang Chung. However, they were eventually revealed to be Peter Marsh, Andy Howell (Tailor), Roger Bechirian (Soldier) and Phil McWalter (Spy).

Peter Marsh is an English singer, songwriter, guitarist and music producer. He was a member of the band Easy Street, which released three albums. The Easy Street single "I've Been Lovin' You" entered the Billboard chart in July 1976. In the 1980s, he was best known as the lead singer in cult new wave group Blanket of Secrecy. Marsh also worked with Vangelis, Manfred Mann's Earth Band and Godley & Creme. His songs have been covered by artists including Nick Lowe and Jimmy Ruffin. In the 1990s he recorded the album "Water Under the Bridge", which was eventually released in 2021. More recently, Marsh has worked in France. He released the albums Stop the Clock in 2014 and Back to the Beginning in 2017. A second Blanket of Secrecy album, recorded in the 1980s, was released in 2017.
