A television pilot, in United Kingdom and United States television, is a standalone episode of a television series that is used to sell a show to a television network or other distributor. A pilot is created to be a testing ground to gauge whether a series will be successful. It is, therefore, a test episode for the intended television series, an early step in the series development, much like pilot studies serve as precursors to the start of larger activity.

All News Channel (ANC) was an American satellite television news channel that was owned by CONUS Communications, a joint venture between Viacom and Hubbard Broadcasting. The channel was carried mainly on direct-broadcast satellite provider DirecTV (and prior to that, USSB, which was folded into DirecTV in 1999). All News Channel's programming was also syndicated to television stations across the United States. The channel was headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, out of the facility of Hubbard's flagship station KSTP-TV (channel 5), the ABC affiliate for the Minneapolis–St. Paul market. He formerly hosted The Michael Castner Show on KEX in Portland and The Daily Wrap for the Wall Street Journal Radio Network. The Michael Castner Show debuted on KEX in July 2013 and was cancelled December 2016. The syndicated Daily Wrap show debuted in April 2011, and aired live from 6 to 9 pm Eastern Time. Charter affiliates include KEIB, Los Angeles, and KLIF, Dallas. Affiliates 96.9 WTKK-FM, Boston, WHNZ, Tampa, and KSTE, Sacramento, were added in the summer of 2011. Additional large market affiliates KVI, Seattle, KHOW, Denver, KEX, Portland, and 92.3 KTAR-FM, Phoenix, were added in January 2012. The Daily Wrap was cancelled in spring 2013.
