Niki Lindroth von Bahr (born 14 February 1984, Stockholm) is a Swedish director and animator based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Biography

von Bahr studied animation at the Royal Institute of Art. She received her master's degree in fine art in 2016. Her films Bath House (2014) and Tord & Tord (2010) have been screened in prestigious festivals such as Berlinale, Sundance and Annecy. Tord & Tord was nominated as Best Short film at Guldbaggegalan (Main Swedish film award) 2011 and won the Grand Prix of Fredrikstad Animation Festival the same year.

In 2017 von Bahr released Min Börda ( The Burden ), a dystopian animated musical. Her short was nominated for the Prize for Best Short Film 2017 at the Directors' Fortnight (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs) during Cannes Festival in May 2017. [1] One month later, The Burden won the Oscars qualifying Cristal Award for the Best Animated Short at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France. [2] Since the release The Burden has won over 80 awards.[ citation needed ]

Niki Lindroth von Bahr is a member of the Oscars Academy since 2020. [3] She is also a costume designer and has been working for artists like Fever Ray and David Bowie.[ citation needed ]

Michaela Pavlátová is a Czech animator, film director and teacher. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for Words, Words, Words (1991) and won the Short Film Golden Bear for Repete (1995). As a feminist experimental animator Michaela's work explores themes of sex, gender, philosophy and relationality. Beyond her independent work she worked as the art director for Wildbrain Inc. Blind Vaysha is a 2016 animated short by Theodore Ushev, produced by Marc Bertrand for the National Film Board of Canada, with the participation of ARTE France. Based on a story by Georgi Gospodinov, the film tells the story of a girl who sees the past out of her left eye and the future from her right—and so is unable to live in the present. Montreal actress Caroline Dhavernas performed the narration for the film, in both its French and English language versions. The film incorporates music from Bulgarian musician and composer Kottarashky and is his and Ushev's fourth collaboration.

TVPaint Animation is a 2D paint and digital animation software package developed by TVPaint Developpement SARL based in Lorraine, France. Originally released for Amiga in 1991, version 3.0 (1994) introduced support for other platforms. In 1999, the last Amiga version 3.59 was released as free download.
