Jeanne Nicole "Nikki" Griffin (born Vicksburg, Mississippi, April 16, 1978) [1] is an American actress and talent agent.

Vicksburg is the only city in, and county seat of, Warren County, Mississippi, United States. It is located 234 miles (377 km) northwest of New Orleans at the confluence of the Mississippi and Yazoo rivers, and 40 miles (64 km) due west of Jackson, the state capital. It is located on the east bank of the Mississippi River across from the state of Louisiana.

Early life and education

Griffin was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, but spent much of her childhood in West Germany. Her father worked for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and her mother is a nurse. She returned as a teenager to Virginia and soon attended New Hanover High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. [2]

Career

Griffin obtained her first acting role on television's Dawson's Creek in 2000, and a larger role, also in 2000, in the television film Darktales.

Dawson's Creek is an American teen drama television series about the fictional lives of a close-knit group of friends beginning in high school and continuing in college that ran from 1998 to 2003. The series stars James Van Der Beek as Dawson Leery, Katie Holmes as his best friend and love interest Joey Potter, Joshua Jackson as their fellow best friend Pacey Witter, and Michelle Williams as Jen Lindley, a New York City transplant to the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts zip code 90108, where the series was set. The show was created by Kevin Williamson and debuted on The WB on January 20, 1998. It was produced by Columbia TriStar Television and was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.

In 2005, Griffin began playing a recurring role for five seasons as Jess Sathers on Fox's teen drama television series The O.C. . [3] In the summer of 2005, she played Katie-Lynn Johnson in The Dukes of Hazzard , as the college girl that caught the eye of cousins Bo and Luke Duke. [4] She also co-starred in National Lampoon's Trick or Treat, released in 2006. [5] [6]

In the past, most series that maintained a focus on teenagers had been sitcoms, while adolescents in drama series were usually part of a larger ensemble that included adults and children.

The O.C. is an American teen drama television series created by Josh Schwartz that originally aired on the Fox network in the United States from August 5, 2003, to February 22, 2007, running a total of four seasons. "O.C." is an abbreviation of Orange County, the location in California in which the series is set.

In 2006, she signed with the Agency for the Performing Arts [7] and landed a role in the 2006 film, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift as Cindy, the girlfriend of the jock who challenged Sean to a race with the winner getting to date her. She was cast in other films in 2006, and then cast in a larger role as Lauren in the 2009 film After Dusk They Come . She also had a role in a 2009 episode of HBO's Entourage series. [8]

After Dusk They Come is a 2009 American horror/thriller film written and directed by Jorg Ihle, and starring Jewel Staite.

Griffin has worked as a talent manager at Main Title Entertainment, which, as of 2005, also continues to represent her. [9]

Griffin suffers from anxiety and depression.
