Nilambur Balan was an Indian actor in Malayalam movies. [1] He was one of the prominent supporting actor in late 1960s and 1970s in Malayalam movies. He has acted in more than 50 movies. [ citation needed ]

Biography

He was born in Vatakara. He was a theater artist before becoming a cine artist. Balan acted in many films, including the Sankupushpam. He was married to Vjayalakshmi on 8 December 1957. They started a drama troupe, Kalithara, and acted together in many dramas. His wife is Kerala State Theater Award-winning actress. [2] The couple has three children Santhosh, Vijayakumar, Asha. He died on 4 February 1990. [3] An award established in memory of actor Nilambur Balan by the Nilambur Balan Anusmarana Samithi is presented to individuals in recognition of their contributions to the fields of theater and cinema. [4]

Balakrishnan Nair, more popularly known as Balan K. Nair was an Indian actor known for his roles in Malayalam cinema. Although he appeared as a villain in most films, he was also noted for his performances in strong character roles. Padmadalakshan, better known by his stage name Kuthiravattam Pappu, was a popular Indian stage and film actor. His repertoire of acting was based on his unique style and use of the Kozhikodan dialect, impeccable timing and the capability to grasp the subtle nuances of any character and mould it into his signature "Pappu style". He acted in over a thousand Malayalam films. He made his debut in a small comic role in Bhargavi Nilayam. His character was named Kuthiravattom, a name that stuck for the rest of his career.

K. Bhaskaran Nair, professionally credited by his stage name Adoor Bhasi, was an Indian actor and film director. He was mostly cast as sidekicks to protagonists, particularly Prem Nazir. His comedic roles were widely appreciated in Malayalam films of the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Bhasi has also done leading and character roles. He directed three Malayalam films in late 1970s. Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair was an Indian poet, playwright, script writer, lyricist, orator, film director and actor, though he is best known as an actor in Malayalam cinema. He is the recipient of Padma Shri from the Government of India, which is one of the highest civilian honours in India. In a career that spanned about 47 years, he acted in over 700 films. K. Ramachandra Babu was an Indian cinematographer of over 125 films, out of which most are Malayalam films. He also worked for films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Arabic and English languages. Ahimsa (transl. Non-violence) is a 1981 Malayalam-language political film directed by I. V. Sasi and written by T. Damodaran, starring Sukumaran, Mammootty, Ratheesh, Poornima Jayaram, Seema, Balan K. Nair, Mohanlal and Menaka in other supporting roles. The film won two Kerala State Film Awards, for Second Best Actor (Mammootty) and Best Editor (Narayanan).

Kuttyedathi is a 1971 Malayalam language film, directed by P. N. Menon and written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. It was widely regarded as one of the best South Indian films made in the 1970s. Shubha is an Indian actress who acted prominently in Malayalam films. She was a lead actress during the late 1970s and early 1980s. She also acted in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi films. She was the second lead in the cult Kannada classic Naagarahaavu (1972). For this, she received Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the year 1972–73.
