Nini Camps is an American folk rock singer-songwriter. [1] [2] She writes music for films and TV shows, and also performs as the lead singer of the all-female band Antigone Rising. She currently lives with her family in New York City.

Nini Camps was born and raised in Miami, Florida. In her beginnings as a solo artist, Camps performed at clubs including The Bitter End, The Mercury Lounge, and The Living Room.[ citation needed ]
Camps has published three independent releases. She has participated in a national tour with Los Lonely Boys, performed at Madison Square Garden with Joan Osborne, and went on a stadium tour as an ambassador for the United States during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.[ citation needed ]
Camps won Billboard's Songwriter Award and was Spin's Top 5 singer-songwriter for her self-released album, "So Long".[ citation needed ] In 2005, she signed with Cherry Lane Music Publishing. Camps' music has appeared in Brothers and Sisters, Castle, Pretty Little Liars, The Hills, Army Wives, Degrassi: The Next Generation (which features an unreleased song "Come Away" at the end of episode "Lost in Love Part 2") Sydney White, and end credits for Ramona and Beezus. Camps continues to write and record in New York City and in her home studio. After Cherry Lane closed its doors, Camps continued working in music publishing at Razor and Tie.
In August 2009, Camps joined the all-female band Antigone Rising as the new lead singer and rhythm guitarist. The band released a studio CD in August 2011 called 23 Red, funded through over $40,000 of fan donations, enabling the band to create their own record label, Rising Shine Records. 23 Red is distributed through Joan Jett's Blackheart Record label (MMD). Beginning in October 2011, Starbucks worldwide featured "Everywhere is Home" & "Gracefully" from 23 Red in their regular in-store rotation.
The Runaways were an American all-female rock band who recorded and performed from 1975 to 1979. Formed in 1975 in Los Angeles, the band released four studio albums and one live album during its run. Among their best-known songs are "Cherry Bomb", "Hollywood", "Queens of Noise" and a cover version of the Velvet Underground's "Rock & Roll". Never a major success in the United States, the Runaways became a sensation overseas, especially in Japan, thanks to the single "Cherry Bomb".
Joan Jett is an American rock singer, guitarist, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and for founding and performing with the Runaways, who recorded and released the hit song "Cherry Bomb". With the Blackhearts, Jett is known for her rendition of the song "I Love Rock 'n Roll" which was number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Antigone Rising is a rock band based in New York City. The band's current line up is Cathy Henderson, Kristen Henderson, and Nini Camps. The band formed a nonprofit called Girls Rising in 2014 to inspire girls and lgbtq youth to pursue nontraditional careers. The annual Girls Rising music festival takes place annually and has featured artists such as Shawn Colvin, Lisa Loeb, Paula Cole, Carnie Wilson amongst others. Melissa Etheridge and Joan Jett have both created Girls Rising grants to help kids pursue nontraditional paths.

She is also the author of a memoir, "Times Two, Two Women in Love and The Happy Family They Made" and a children’s book, “All Moms” Kristen is currently performing in the Drama Desk Nominated Best Musical “F_*k 7th Grade,” at The Wild Project theater in New York City She and wife, Sarah Kate Ellis-Henderson, are vocal advocates on LGBT issues, especially marriage and family equality. In 2013, Kristen made the Buzzfeed's Most Powerful LGBT Icons and Allies List alongside The Pope, Madonna, President Obama, Edie Windsor and Elton John.
