The Summer Paralympics will be held between 24 August and 5 September 2021 after the Olympics.

On June 28, 2018, a mass shooting occurred at the offices of The Capital, a newspaper serving Annapolis, Maryland. The gunman, Jarrod Ramos, shot and killed five employees with a shotgun; two others were injured while trying to escape. Ramos was arrested shortly thereafter. He has pleaded guilty but not criminally responsible to 23 charges and is currently imprisoned while awaiting a scheduled June 2021 trial for the shooting.

Based on the Transformers toyline and primarily influenced by the Beast Wars storyline, the film will center around Optimus Prime in 1994 in Brooklyn, New York City, and parts of Peru such as Machu Picchu, Cusco, and San Martín. The project is a joint-venture production between eOne and Paramount Pictures. The film is scheduled to be released on June 24, 2022.
