The Nipissing Lakers men's ice hockey team is the ice hockey team that represents Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario. It was granted membership in the OUA's men's ice hockey circuit in 2009.

Since the Lakers inaugural season, all home games are televised on TVCogeco, [8] and all away games are broadcast on AM 600 CKAT. [9]

The broadcasters for the Lakers on TVCogeco are Ranjan Rupal on play-by-play, Greg Theberge on colour commentary, and Claude Sharma as the rinkside reporter. [10] Bob Coles is the play-by play announcer on CKAT.

Ontario University Athletics Governing body for university sport in Ontario

Ontario University Athletics (OUA) is a regional membership association for Canadian universities which assists in co-ordinating competition between their university level athletic programs and providing contact information, schedules, results, and releases about those programs and events to the public and the media. This is similar to what would be called a college athletic conference in the United States. OUA, which covers Ontario, is one of four such bodies that are members of the country's governing body for university athletics, U Sports. The other three regional associations coordinating university-level sports in Canada are Atlantic University Sport (AUS), the Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CW), and Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ).

The Ontario University Athletics (OUA) came into being in 1997 with the merger of the Ontario Universities Athletics Association and the Ontario Women's Intercollegiate Athletics Association. This is similar to what would be called a college athletic conference in the United States.

The York Lions women's ice hockey team team represents York University in Toronto, Ontario in the sport of ice hockey in the Ontario University Athletics conference of U Sports. The York Lions have won three OUA championships in their program history while making one appearance in the U Sports women's ice hockey championship tournament since its inception in 1998.

Queen's Golden Gaels women's ice hockey is the representative women's ice hockey program of Queen's University at Kingston in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The Western Mustangs men's ice hockey team represents Western University in Canadian university competition. Autumn Mills is a former competitor with the York Lions women's ice hockey program. She is a member of the Canada women's national baseball team which won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games.

2019 U Sports University Cup

The 2019 U Sports Men's University Cup Hockey Tournament was held March 14–17, 2019, in Lethbridge, Alberta and played at the ENMAX Centre. The Lethbridge Pronghorns, a member of U Sports Canada West conference, are the designated host for this awarded year. The ENMAX center is located 15 minutes from campus, in south Lethbridge. This event marks the first appearance of the tournament in Lethbridge and 10th time in Alberta.

The Nipissing Lakers women's ice hockey program represents Nipissing University in the Ontario University Athletics conference of U Sports. Having competed in Ontario University Athletics women's ice hockey since the 2013-14 season, the Lakers appeared in the McCaw Cup Finals in 2017. Currently, the head coach is former NHL forward and North Bay Sports Hall of Fame member Darren Turcotte.

The Laurentian Voyageurs women's basketball team represent Laurentian University in the Ontario University Athletics of U Sports women's basketball. The Voyageurs have also captured the OUA Critelli Cup conference title a total of 14 times, the last coming in 2000. Additionally, the program has won seven Bronze Baby trophies.
