Niru Devi Pal (also Neeru) is a Nepali communist politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. [2] [3] She was elected under the proportional representation system from CPN UML filling the reserved seat for women, [4] for Kanchanpur district. [3] Representing the newly formed Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in the parliament, she also chairs the parliamentary Women and Social Committee. [5] [6]

She was allegedly threatened by a group of people when out grocery-shopping in Mid-Baneshwar on July 31, 2018. A large number of police personnel had been mobilised and as many as 75 had been arrested for further investigation by August 2, [7] 16 of whom had been held, post preliminary screening. [8] There was no further progress reported on the case, and by mid-November, there were reports that the whole incident was a hoax. [9]

Hem kumar Rai is a Nepali politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. He is also a member of the parliamentary Finance Committee. He was elected under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system representing CPN UML from Tanahun-2 constituency. He defeated his nearest rival Shankar Bhandari of Nepali Congress by acquiring 32,924 votes to Bhandari's 29,645. This was the first time he was elected to parliament. Following the merger of CPN UML with CPN to form Nepal Communist Party (NCP), he represents the new party in parliament.

Lal Bahadur Thapa is a Nepali politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. He was elected under the first-past-the-post system representing CPN UML of the left alliance, in Bajura-1 constituency. He defeated his nearest rival, Kabiraj Pandit of Nepali Congress, by acquiring 28,065 votes to Pandit's 23,181.

Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary is a Nepali communist politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. She was elected under the proportional representation system from CPN UML. She represents CPN in the parliament, and is also a member of the State Affairs Committee.

Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj is a Nepali communist politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. He was the commander of the first attack carried out by the Maoists, that began the Nepalese civil war.

General elections were held in Nepal on 20 November 2022 to elect the 275 members of the House of Representatives. There were two ballots in the election; one to elect 165 members from single-member constituencies via FPTP, and the other to elect the remaining 110 members from a single nation-wide constituency via party-list proportional representation.

The first Bagmati Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2017 provincial elections. 110 members were elected to the assembly, 66 of whom were elected through direct elections and 44 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The term of the assembly started on 1 February 2018 and ended in September 2022. Dormani Poudel and Astalaxmi Shakya served as the chief ministers from the CPN (UML) and Rajendra Prasad Pandey served as chief minister from CPN during the term of the assembly. Sanu Kumar Shrestha served as the speaker of the assembly and Radhika Tamang served as the deputy speaker.
