Bangladesh Nationalist Party is a major political party in Bangladesh. Founded on 1 September 1978 by the late Bangladeshi president Ziaur Rahman,with a view of uniting people with a nationalist ideology,BNP later came out as one of the two most dominant parties in Bangladesh,along with its archrival Awami League. Initially being a big tent centrist party,it moved towards more right-wing politics later.

The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats,including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Elected occupants are called members of Parliament,or MPs. The 12th national parliamentary election was held on 7 January 2024. Elections to the body are held every five years,unless a parliament is dissolved earlier by the President of Bangladesh. On 6 August 2024,President Mohammed Shahabuddin dissolved parliament after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina and ordered to form a interim government.
Abdul Qasim Mohammad Badruddoza Chowdhury served as the President of Bangladesh from 14 November 2001 until his resignation on 21 June 2002. He was the founding secretary-general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Jagannath University (JnU) is a public university located in Sadarghat,Dhaka,the capital of Bangladesh. Founded as Dhaka Brahma School in 1858 and renamed Jagannath School in 1872,the institution was taken over by the Pakistani government in 1968,while Bangladesh was still a part of Pakistan. Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury was a Bangladeshi politician,minister and six-term member of Jatiya Sangsad and member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee,who served as the adviser of parliamentary affairs to Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in from 2001 to 2006. On 1 October 2013 he was convicted of 9 of 23 charges and sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh for crimes during the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence. However,limitations placed on his defense testimony were called "disturbing" and the trial called politically motivated.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Chittagong-12 and Chittagong-13 constituencies. He served as the Minister of Land at the Fourth Hasina ministry during 2019–2024.
Ariful Haque Choudhury is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former mayor of Sylhet. Choudhury is also an executive member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. In 2003,he was elected as commissioner of Sylhet City Corporation. He become Mayor for consecutive 2 terms since 2013.

Nipun Roy Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi lawyer and politician. She serves as the general secretary of the Dhaka District unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and is a member of the BNP executive committee. She is the daughter of Nitai Roy Chowdhury,a BNP vice chairman and former minister.
