Colonel (Col) (Swedish: överste, öv) is the most senior field grade military officer rank in the Swedish Army and the Swedish Air Force, immediately above the rank of lieutenant colonel and just below the rank of brigadier general. It is equivalent to the naval rank of captain in the Swedish Navy.

Major General Bo Erik Siwer Waldemarsson is a retired officer of the Swedish Air Force. His senior commands include commanding officer of the Central Air Command and the Central Military District. Waldemarsson also served as the Commandant General in Stockholm for two years.
Friherre Major General Nils-Fredrik Palmstierna was a Swedish Air Force officer. His senior commands include the post of Vice Chief of the Defence Staff, Chief of Staff of the Eastern Military District and head of the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College.

Rear Admiral Rolf Sigurdsson Rheborg was a Swedish Navy officer. Rheborg served as head of the Royal Swedish Naval Academy (1969–1971), as head of Section 3 in the Naval Staff (1971–1973) and as Chief of Staff of the Southern Military District (1973–1978) in Kristianstad.
Nils Krister Bringéus is a Swedish diplomat. He served as a member of diplomatic staff and as Ambassador of Sweden to Serbia and to Norway from the 1970s and into the 2020s.
Major General Mats Håkan Ingemar Welff is a retired Swedish Army officer. Welff began his military career as a second lieutenant in the Swedish Army in 1970 and steadily rose through the ranks. He attended the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College and served in different roles within the military, including commanding the Malmö Brigade and the 1st Nordic Battalion in UNPROFOR in the Balkans. Notably, he commanded the Halland Regiment and Halland Defence District as well as the Southern Army Division. Welff served as the Chief of Home Guard from 2000 to 2002. He retired as a major general in 2002 and subsequently worked as a regional director in the Scania Regional Council from 2002 to 2007.
