Miguel Coyula Aquino is a Cuban filmmaker and writer. At age 17, he made his first short with a VHS camcorder, which led to his admittance to Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. At the 1944 Argentine Film Critics Association Awards, Ortiz won the Silver Condor Award for Best Actress for her performance in Safo, historia de una pasión (1943) and won it again in 1946 for her performance in El canto del cisne (1945). She was known as the Argentine Greta Garbo and for playing mysterious characters, who suffered by past misfortunes in love, mental disorders, or forbidden love. Safo, historia de una pasión was the first erotic Argentine film, though there was no nudity. She also played in the first film in which a woman struck a man and the first film with a lesbian romance. In 1981, she was awarded the Grand Prize for actresses from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Fernando Birri was an Argentine film maker and theorist. He was considered by many to be the father of the new Latin American cinema.

Harto The Borges is a documentary film by Eduardo Montes-Bradley. Harto The Borges explores the narcissistic side of Jorge Luis Borges, the author of El Aleph, his frequent and often criticized comments to the press, his distinctive and gentle ironies. Harto The Borges had a theatrical release in Buenos Aires in September 2000, and was well received by the critics. Since then has been frequently exhibited at forums, campuses, and film festivals. On October 4, 2011, Harto The Borges was presented at the University of Salamanca, and made available to the general audience in Argentina through the On Line version of Revista Cultura Ñ, in Buenos Aires. The film was released alongside an article in which the director views the film ten years after its premier at the Cine Cosmos. The film is currently available in Vimeo. Harto The Borges was presented at the Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, Havana, Cuba, 2000 and nominated for Premio Cóndor de Plata.

Mónica Villa is an Argentine actress of stage, screen, and TV, as well as a researcher and educator. She earned a Best Actress award for her role as "Susana" in cult classic "Esperando la Carroza at the 1985 Festival de Cine Iberoamericano, in Huelva, Spain. She won an ACE Golden award for best leading actress in the 2002 comedy "Ojos traidores", a 2004 Premios Trinidad Guevara for best Actress of a Repertoire Company, a Premios Carlos de Oro for her 2011 performance as best lead actress in the theater production "Jardín De Otoño", and in 2015 a Premios Estrella de Mar for Best Female Performance in a Repertoire Company for "La Nona". In addition, she has been nominated for a Best Actress in a TV Special for the 2003 Premios Martín Fierro, making her acting work recognized in all three major media.
Federico Jusid is an Argentine composer who resides and works between Madrid and Los Angeles. He has written the scores for more than 40 feature films and over 25 television series.
His work includes the score for the Academy Award®-winner for Best Foreign Film The Secret in Their Eyes, for which he received the nomination for the Spanish Academy Goya Award® for Best Original Score.

Carolina Papaleo is an Argentine actress of theater, film and television. She is the daughter of the actress Irma Roy and the journalist Osvaldo Papaleo. From a very young age she wanted to be an actress like her mother. In 2013 she debuted as a television presenter on a Channel 9 program Secretos de novelas which reviews telenovelas. She is a fan of the genre and watches four episodes a week to be able to review them. Papaleo is recognized and remembered for her role as Ana Oromi in the hit telenovela Una voz en el teléfono, which first brought her fame.
Aurelia Del Carmen Guarini is an Argentine anthropologist, teacher, film director, and film producer specializing in anthropological documentary films. She teaches visual anthropology and directs documentaries in Argentina and in Cuba. She serves on the documentary projects' evaluation committee at the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts and participates in Cine Ojo projects.
Contrakultura Films was an imprint of Iruña Films, SA a Buenos Aires film production effort dedicated to producing biographical documentaries on Latin American writers. Production offices were located in San Telmo. Soledad Liendo, Leonardo Hussen and Rodolfo Durán were among the producers. The initiative later expanded to include visual artists such as Andrés Waissman and Humberto Calzada, and [social scientists] such as León Rozitchner, Ismael Viñas, Juan Jose Sebreli and Jorge Lovisolo. Contrakultura existed as such between 2002 and 2006 producing approximately twenty-five documentaries with the support of INCAA, Fondo Nacional de las Artes, and the Ministerio de Cultura de la Nación. These films are presently owned by [Heritage Film Project], and currently being distributed by Alexander Street Press.

Gonzalo Calzada is an Argentine filmmaker and writer, best known for his directoral work on fantasy and horror films. His film Luisa was awarded the best "opera prima" at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival in 2009. His film Resurrection achieved historic box office rankings for its genre in Argentina. Calzada's work is internationally recognized by film critics.
Liliana Maresca was an Argentine artist. Her works cover a variety of styles including sculpture, painting, graphic montages art objects and installations. She was a prominent artist in the period following the dictatorship of the National Reorganization Process. She was a key figure who participated in the artistic scene since the early 80's, starring the enthusiastic young bohemian that detonated Buenos Aires from the early years of democracy rapidly becoming an inflection figure. Her works included objects, installations, performances, interventions in public and semipublic places, and the photographic performances. Maresca died of AIDS in 1994, just a few days after the opening of her retrospective at the Centro Cultural Recoleta in Buenos Aires.
