The Berlin International Film Festival, usually called the Berlinale, is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1951 and originally run in June, the festival has been held every February since 1978 and is one of Europe's "Big Three" film festivals alongside the Venice Film Festival held in Italy and the Cannes Film Festival held in France. Furthermore, it is one of the "Big Five", the most prestigious film festivals in the world. The festival regularly draws tens of thousands of visitors each year.

We, Students! is a 2022 Central African Republic documentary film written and directed by Rafiki Fariala on his feature film directorial debut. The film showcases the harsh realities on how students are brought up at the University of Bangui amid various pressing issues such as sexual harassment, terrible living conditions inside the campus and the reality of having to tolerate the rampant corrupted professors. The film captures and portrays the everyday lives of the filmmaker himself and his friends at the University of Bangui and they spare a thought about how their futures would eventually pan out in the Central African Republic in the future. The film was screened in the Panorama section at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival and it became the first film ever from the Central African Republic to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival. According to The Africa Report, it was ranked among top ten most notable African films of 2022.
African Moot is a 2022 South African documentary film written and directed by lawyer turned filmmaker Shameela Seedat. The film is based on a set of aspiring lawyers who compete in the African Human Rights Moot Court Competition by representing the top law schools from their respective nations and they turn up for the event which is held in Gaborone, Botswana for a duration of one week at the African Court of Human Rights where social topics are taken up for debates which are deemed as fictional court cases. According to The Africa Report, it was ranked among top ten most notable African films of 2022.
Lend Me Your Voice is a 2021 Rwandan documentary short film directed by Claudine Ndimbira. The film was screened as a world premiere on 7 May 2022 in the African Encounters category at the Internationales Dokumentarfilmfestival München and was just one of two films from Generation Africa project to be premiered at the 2022 DOK.fest Munich with the other being Home Again. The film was also screened at the Sheffield DocFest in June 2022. The film was also aired on Arte.

Sira is a 2023 drama film written and directed by Apolline Traoré and starring Nafissatou Cissé, Mike Danon, Lazare Minoungou, Nathalie Vairac and Ruth Werner. No Simple Way Home also known as Nie ma prostej drogi do domu is a 2022 South Sudanese-South African documentary film written and directed by South Sudanese filmmaker Akuol de Mabior on her documentary directorial debut. The film was premiered at the 2022 International Filmfestival Amsterdam. The film encounters the daily struggles of people in South Sudan and recounts the story of the most prominent political family in South Sudan's history. It became the first ever South Sudanese film to be screened at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Disco Afrika : A Malagasy Story is a 2023 Malagasy-language drama film directed by Luck Razanajaona, produced by Jonathan Rubin, co-written with François Hébert, Marcelo Novais Teles, Ludovic Randriamanantsoa and starring Parista Sambo. It World premiered at 2023 Marrakech International Film Festival and European premiered at 74th Berlin International Film Festival where it received an honorable mention from the AG Kino – Gilde e.V. jury.
Olga Lucovnicova is a Moldovan film director and cinematographer, best known for her documentary Nanu Tudor, which won the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2021.
Maydegol is a 2024 documentary film written and directed by Sarvnaz Alambeigi. The work is about an Afghan teenager Maydegol, an immigrant in Iran, who strives to pursue her dream of becoming a professional Muay Thai boxer while battling the social injustice and violence she encounters beyond the ring.
No Other Land is a 2024 documentary film directed by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor in their directorial debut. The film was made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four activists as an act of resistance on the path to justice during the ongoing war in the region.
