Nomwin is a large atoll, part of the Hall Islands, as well as a village and municipality (together with uninhabited East Fayu) in the state of Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia. [1]
It is located 9 km to the SW of Murilo Atoll and 82 km to the north of Chuuk Lagoon. [2] Together with Murilo, Fananu, and Ruo, they form the Hall Islands.
The Federated States of Micronesia, or simply Micronesia, is an island country in Micronesia, a subregion of Oceania. Satawan Atoll is an atoll located about 250 kilometers (160 mi) southeast of Chuuk Lagoon proper. Geographically it is part of the Nomoi or Mortlock Islands in the Carolines and administratively it is part of Chuuk State in the Federated States of Micronesia. About 3,000 people live on a land area of 5 square kilometers (1.9 sq mi).

The atoll is located in the Pattiw group in the Caroline Islands, located about 140 miles (230 km) to the west of Chuuk.
