Noori Nastaleeq is a nastaleeq used in Pakistan. [1] It was first created as a digital font in 1981 as the collaboration between Ahmed Mirza Jamil and Monotype Imaging. [2]
In 1982, the Government of Pakistan named the nastaleeq as an "Invention of National Importance". [2] Daily Jang is a user of the nastaleeq. [3]
In 1995, Concept Software Pvt Ltd had an agreement with Monotype Imaging to bring Noori Nastaleeq to a common man on a MS Windows based PC system through their proprietary Page Layout application called InPage.
Nastaliq, also romanized as Nastaʿlīq or Nastaleeq, is one of the main calligraphic hands used to write the Perso-Arabic script and it is used for some Indo-Iranian languages, predominantly Classical Persian, Kashmiri, Punjabi and Urdu. It is often used also for Ottoman Turkish poetry, but rarely for Arabic. Nastaliq developed in Iran from naskh beginning in the 13th century and remains widely used in Iran, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and other countries for written poetry and as a form of art.
Noori (transl. Light) is a Pakistani rock band from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, formed in 1996. The group was formed by songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist, Ali Noor, along with his younger brother Ali Hamza, who were soon joined by bassist Muhammad Ali Jafri and drummer Salman Albert. Since the inception of the band, there has been many changes in the line-up; the only consistent members being brothers, Ali Noor and Ali Hamza. It has co-official status in the republics of Pakistan, India and South Africa. The Legend of Maula Jatt is a 2022 Pakistani Punjabi-language action drama film directed by Bilal Lashari and written by Nasir Adeeb. The film is an adaptation and a soft reboot of the 1979 Lollywood film Maula Jatt. It is produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under the production banner of Lashari Films and Encyclomedia. It is based on the characters and stories by Nasir Adeeb. The film stars Fawad Khan as the titular character with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Faris Shafi and Mahira Khan. In the film, a local folk hero named Maula Jatt takes on his arch nemesis and the leader of a brutal clan, Noori Natt.

Amar Nastaleeq is a Nastaliq style Embedded OpenType and TrueType Font which was lowest in size, created for web embedding on Urdu websites in 2013. The font was announced by Urdu poet Fahmida Riaz. Jang Group of Newspapers has rendered this font from the developers.
