Norges-Nytt

Norges-Nytt was a Norwegian magazine issued in Stockholm from September 1941 by the Press Office of the Norwegian legation in Stockholm. [1] It had a circulation of up to 40,000 copies. [2]

Contents

Among the editors of Norges-Nytt were journalists Jørgen Juve (until 1942) and Rolf Gerhardsen. [3] [4] The last issue was #24 published in 1945. [5]

Jørgen Juve was a Norwegian football player, jurist, journalist, and non-fiction writer. For most of his career, he played as a striker for Lyn. He also played for a season at FC Basel in Switzerland before retiring and earned a total of 45 caps for the Norway national team. He is the highest-scoring player ever for Norway, with 33 goals in just 45 games. He was captain of the Norway team which won Olympic bronze medals in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He also had a career as a journalist for Dagbladet and Tidens Tegn, and wrote several books.

Leonardstatuetten is a prize awarded by the Norwegian Comedy Writers' Association. The award is named after revue instructor, composer and director Einar Leonard Schanke (1927–1992), who was one of Norway's most important revue personalities. The prize is regarded the highest distinction in Norwegian revue. Awarded from 1968 to 2013, the statuette was given to persons with a significant and lasting importance to Norway's entertainment industry. The statuette was again awarded in 2019, when Eldar Vågan was the recipient.

In 1910 Haakon VII serves his sixth year as King of Norway. On 1 February Wollert Konow takes over as Prime Minister after Gunnar Knudsen, who has held this position since 1908.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Norwegian legation in Stockholm</span>

The Norwegian Legation in Stockholm played a significant role during the Second World War. Until 9 April 1940 the legation consisted of four persons, and at the end of the war about 1,100 persons were connected to the legation. Refugee cases were among the legation's most central tasks. In 1941 a Military office was established, and this was later split into separate offices for intelligence, and for Milorg related cases.

Gerhard Meidell Gerhardsen was a Norwegian economist.

Rolf Eilert Gerhardsen was a Norwegian journalist and leader of the Oslo branch of the Norwegian Labour Party.
