The Norbotten Party (Norrbottenspartiet) was a minor, regional party in Sweden. The base of the party was in the most northern Swedish province, Norrbotten County, and in the local and regional parties, the Kiruna Party and the Norrbotten Healthcare Party.
In the 2002 Swedish general elections the Kiruna and NHP parties agreed to attempt parliamentary representation in the Swedish Riksdag by running as a joint alternative, trying to reach the county's 4% threshold for representation in the national parliament. The party received 0.28% of the vote, and thus didn't get representation in the Riksdag. The party dissolved shortly afterwards.
The party leader was Lars Törnman who was at the time co-Mayor (along with the Social Democrat leader) in the local municipality of Kiruna and leader of the Kiruna Party.

It was founded in 1994 as a splinter group of the local branch of the Social Democrats and was led by Lars Törnman from 1994 until 2010, when Törnman left the party for the Social Democrats. After Törnman's leaving the party, Henry Emmoth was selected as its new leader.

In 2010, he was appointed the Moderate Party's Chairman in the Riksdag Justice Committee. Before his election to the Riksdag, he was an opposition politician in Luleå Municipality.

The incumbent minority government, consisting of the Social Democrats and the Greens and supported by the Left Party, won 144 seats, one seat more than the four-party Alliance coalition, with the Sweden Democrats winning the remaining 62 seats. The Social Democrats' vote share fell to 28.3 percent, its lowest level of support since 1911.
Lars Törnman is a Swedish mine worker, trade union leader, politician, municipal commissioner, and mayor of Kiruna in 1994–2003 and 2008–2010. Törnman was born in Kiruna, Norrbotten County. He was a devoted Social Democrat until his founding of the Kiruna Party in 1994 and again since 2010. He made a failed attempt to reach the Riksdag of Sweden by running his Kiruna Party jointly with another local party as the Norrbotten Party.
Sven-Erik Österberg is a Swedish official and former social-democratic politician. He is Governor of Stockholm County since 1 February 2018 and previously served as Governor of Norrbotten County from 1 October 2012 to 31 January 2018. Österberg was Minister for Financial Markets from 2004 to 2006.
