NCYC is home of Anna Tunnicliffe, ICSA Women’s College Sailor of the Year in 2005, ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year in 2009 and 2011, [3] [4] and US Sailing’s Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
North Cape was honored by U.S. Sailing with the award of One-Design Yacht Club of the Year for 2011. [5]

He has been presented with several awards for his writing and his contributions to boating safety and seamanship.

Peter Burling is a New Zealand sailor. He was the 2021 America's Cup winning skipper and helmsman, and the 2017 America's Cup winning helmsman of Team New Zealand. Burling won an Olympic gold medal in the 49er class at the 2016 games and silver medals in the 2012 and 2020 Olympics.

The International Cadet Australian Championship is an annual series of championship races held in Australia as the top racing event for the Cadet class sailing dinghy in the country. Generally held as a qualifier for the world cup, the championship will reach its 50th event in 2011 when it will be held at Lake Macquarie in New South Wales from 27 December 2011 to 4 January 2012.

Australian Yachtsman of the Year Award was created in 1962 by Max Press, OAM, the then Commodore of the Parkdale Yacht Club in Melbourne. The club was launching an appeal to build its new clubhouse on Port Phillip Bay foreshore at Parkdale and to hold an annual Ball at the Springvale Town Hall. To further the attendances, Max Press approached Ampol, the Australian petroleum company and a supporter of sailing through its part sponsorship of the 1962 Australian bid for the America's Cup with the 12-metre yacht, Gretel launched by the syndicate head, Sir Frank Packer. Ampol supported this award for many years, which recognises the outstanding achievements of leading Australian yachtsmen and women.
The Farr 40 World Championship was an annual international sailing regatta for Farr 40 class, they are organized by the host club on behalf of the International Farr 40 Class Association and recognized by World Sailing, the sports IOC recognized governing body. The class gained World Sailing recognition from 1997 until 2022.
