The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) is a regulatory body established in 1974 under the Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) to oversee the use and development of coastal resources in North Carolina. [1] [2] [3] The commission is responsible for adopting regulations, designating Areas of Environmental Concern (AECs), and providing oversight of coastal development. [4] [5] It works in coordination with the Division of Coastal Management [6] to implement coastal policies and manage land and resource use within the state’s coastal zone. [7] [8]
