North Devon Raiders are a rugby league team based in Barnstaple, Devon. They play in the South West Rugby League.

History

The North Devon Raiders were formed in 2009 and joined the South West division of the Rugby League Conference for the 2010 season.

Raiders lost to Exeter Centurions in the 2012 South West cup final after having beaten them 80-0 earlier in the season. They also lost out on the South West Rugby League title after defeat to Devon Sharks in the Grand Final.

Regional 2 South West, is an English, level six, rugby union league for clubs based in the south-west of England; i.e. Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. It is one of twelve leagues at this level in England. When league rugby started in 1986 it was known as South West 2, but in 1996 the division was split into two leagues — South West 1 West and South West 1 East. South West 1 West was renamed Regional 2 South West prior to the 2022–23 season. Barnstaple Rugby Football Club was established in 1877 and is a rugby union club based in Barnstaple, Devon. The club's first team play in the 5th tier of the English rugby union system, Regional 1 South West, following their relegation from National League 2 West in 2022–23. The first team are called the Chiefs, and there are also 2nd and 3rd teams, a number of youth teams from under-7s to under-18s (colts), and a girls side. The club colours are red and white and their nickname is Barum.

Devon League 1 is an English level eight rugby union league for clubs based in Devon. The champions are promoted to Cornwall/Devon and the runner-up plays the second team from Cornwall League 1, with the winning team gaining promotion. Up until the end of the 2017–18 season, teams were relegated to Devon League 2 but since that league has been abolished there is currently no relegation.

The Southern Conference League is the fourth tier of the British rugby league system.
