Northwest Nuclear Consortium

The Northwest Nuclear Consortium is an organization based in Washington state which uses a research grade ion collider to teach a class of high school students nuclear engineering principles based on the Department of Energy curriculum. [1] They won the 1st Place at WSU Imagine Tomorrow in 2012. They also won the 1st place at the Washington State Science Fair, and the 2nd place worldwide at ISEF in 2013. In 2014 they won two 2nd place at the Central Sound Regional Science Fair at Bellevue College and they won 1st place twice in category at the Washington State Science & Engineering Fair at Bremerton. In 2015, they won 14 1st-place trophies at the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair, over $250,000 in scholarships at two different colleges and 3 of the 5 available trips to ISEF, where they won 4th place in the world against 72 countries.

The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) is an annual science fair in the United States. It is owned and administered by the Society for Science, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. Each May, more than 1500 students from roughly 70 countries and territories compete in the fair for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prizes, including one $75,000 and two $50,000 college scholarships. All prizes together amount to over $5,000,000. Two awards ceremonies are held including: Special Awards Organization Presentation and the Grand Awards Ceremony. The International Science and Engineering Fair was founded in 1950 by Science Service and was sponsored by Intel from 1997 to 2019. Since 2020, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is the title sponsor for ISEF, but the event that year was cancelled and replaced with an online version due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dearborn Center for Math, Science and Technology (DCMST) is a specialized secondary education center with a four-year advanced, research based, science and math curriculum located in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The school was founded in 2001, with its first graduating class in 2005. Most of the school is located in the Henry Ford Community College building, but some of the Michael Berry Career Center (MBCC) building is also used by DCMST. About 75 students are selected each year from the three high schools in the Dearborn City School District. Once in the program, students are committed for four years. In freshman and sophomore year, students attend their three classes at DCMST in the afternoon from 11:15 to 1:55. Juniors and seniors attend in the morning from 7:35 to 10:15. The other three hours are spent at student's home school. DCMST is a member of the NCSSSMST, an alliance of specialized high schools in the United States whose focus is advanced preparatory studies in mathematics, science and technology. The school is also accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) as all other Dearborn Public Schools are.

Larry Zhixing Hu was awarded minor planet name 18739 Larryhu during the 2003 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Cleveland, Ohio for his grand award-winning computer science team project named "A Liquid-based Thermoelectric Application for Processor Architecture Scalability". The year prior, Larry was a member of the first team to be sent to ISEF from the state of Alabama.

Param Jaggi is an American inventor and the CEO of Hatch Technologies. Previously, he was founder and CEO of EcoViate. He is known for building Algae Mobile, a device that converts carbon dioxide emitted from a car into oxygen. Jaggi was featured in Forbes 30 under 30 in 2011 and 2012.

The New York City Science and Engineering Fair (NYCSEF) is an annual science fair contested by around 700 high school students from Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island, making it the largest high school research competition in New York City. About 150 participants advance to the finals round. Awards include scholarships to study at CUNY's City College of New York and Hunter College, while the finalists win a trip to represent New York City at the International Science and Engineering Fair. Winners represent Team NYC at ISEF and compete for $4,000,000 in awards. The event is sponsored by the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) and the City University of New York (CUNY) Office of Academic Affairs. Other science fairs include the Google Science Fair, Siemens Science Fair, Intel STS and Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.
