(Norwegian) or Fuossko (Lule Sami) is a municipality located in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Salten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Fauske. Some of the villages in Fauske include Nystad, Venset, Straumsnes, Sjønstå, Valnesfjord, Finneid, and Sulitjelma.
European route E6 is the main north–south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is 3,056 km (1,899 mi) long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border.
European route E47 is a road connecting Lübeck in Germany to Helsingborg in Sweden via the Danish capital Copenhagen. It is also known as the Vogelfluglinie (German) or Fugleflugtslinjen (Danish). The road is of motorway standard all the way except for 28 km (17 mi) in Germany and 6 km of city roads in Helsingør, Denmark; there are also two ferry connections.
The Korgfjell Tunnel is an 8,530-metre (5.30 mi) long road tunnel in Nordland county, Norway. The tunnel connects Knutli in Vefsn Municipality with the village of Korgen in Hemnes Municipality. Work on the tunnel started in September 2001 and it was opened on 16 September 2005.
European route E16 is the designation of a main west-east road through Northern Ireland, Scotland, Norway and Sweden, from Derry to Gävle, via Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, previously by ferry to Bergen, Voss, through the Gudvanga Tunnel and the Lærdal Tunnel, Lærdal, over Filefjell to Fagernes, Hønefoss, Gardermoen and Kongsvinger. In Sweden, it passes Malung, Falun and ends in Gävle.
European route E136 is a European highway located entirely in Møre og Romsdal and Innlandet counties in Norway. The highway begins in the town of Ålesund in Møre og Romsdal county on the west coast of Norway, and it goes east up through the Romsdalen valley, crossing into the upper Gudbrandsdalen Valley to end at the village of Dombås in Dovre Municipality in Innlandet county.
European route E134 is a European highway that crosses Norway starting at Haugesund Airport, Karmøy near the city of Haugesund on the west coast, heading over Haukeli, passing the city of Drammen, and ending in Vassum on the east side of the Oslofjord Tunnel.
European route E14 is a part of the International E-road network. It runs between Trondheim, Norway, and Sundsvall, Sweden. The road is 449 kilometres (279 mi) long.
European route E69 is an E-road between Olderfjord and North Cape in northern Norway. The road is 129 km (80 mi) long. It contains five tunnels, totalling 15.5 km (9.6 mi). The longest, the North Cape Tunnel, is 6.9 km (4.3 mi) long and reaches 212 m (696 ft) below sea level.
The Atlantic Ocean Tunnel is an undersea tunnel that is part of Norwegian County Road 64 which connects Kristiansund Municipality to Averøy Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The eastern end of the tunnel is on Kirkelandet island in the town of Kristiansund and the western end of the tunnel is on the island of Averøya, just west of the village of Sveggen. The 5,727-metre (18,789 ft) long tunnel runs beneath the Bremsnesfjorden, reaching a depth of 250 metres (820 ft), making it one of the deepest undersea tunnels in the world. Construction began in 2006, and the tunnel opened on 19 December 2009, later than initially estimated. Breakthrough was in March 2009. Problems with water leaks caused delays and cost overruns.
County Road 17, also known as the Coastal Highway, is a Norwegian highway that runs from the town of Bodø in Nordland county to the town of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county. It is 630 kilometres (390 mi) long and includes six ferry crossings. The road runs along the coast of Nordland and Trøndelag counties through 28 different municipalities. This road is a much more scenic, albeit longer and more time-consuming, route than the inland European Route E6 highway.
The European route E8 is a European route that runs between Tromsø, Norway and Turku, Finland. The length of the route is 1,410 kilometres (880 mi).
The Hell Tunnel is a 3,928-metre (12,887 ft) long road tunnel in Trøndelag county, Norway. The tunnel is located along the shared section of the European route E6 and European route E14 motorways that runs through the mountain Gjevingåsen between the villages of Hommelvik in Malvik municipality and Hell in Stjørdal municipality.
Norwegian National Road 150, also known as Ring 3 and formerly Store Ringvei is a beltway limited-access road which circumnavigates Oslo, Norway. It runs from Ryen, through the Sinsen Interchange to Lysaker in Bærum.
Norwegian County Road 774 is a 4.2-kilometre (2.6 mi) long county road in the municipality of Levanger in Trøndelag county, Norway. It begins at the junction with the European route E06 highway at the village of Mule. It then heads into and through parts of the town of Levanger. There, the road continues as the Levanger–Hokstad Ferry operated by Tide Sjø to the village of Hokstad on the island of Ytterøya. After the ferry, the road changes to Norwegian County Road 135.
Norwegian National Road 4 is a national road in Norway which is the main route north from the capital city of Oslo to the junction with the European route E6 highway at the village of Biri in Gjøvik Municipality. The road runs through Nittedal, Hadeland, and Toten to its terminus on the shore of the lake Mjøsa. In 2021, the government began studying ways to improve the road to allieviate traffic problems.
The Skansen Tunnel is an immersed tube underwater tunnel in the city of Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. Part of Norwegian National Road 706, it runs from Brattøra to Ila. The tunnel is 510 meters (1,670 ft) long and opened on 27 May 2010.
National Road 70 is a 162.0-kilometre (100.7 mi) long national highway that runs from the town of Kristiansund in Kristiansund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county and the village of Oppdal in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway.
Central Hålogaland is a district of Northern Norway constituting the traditional districts of Ofoten, Lofoten, Vesterålen, and southern Troms. It has a population of 117,000, with the largest towns being Harstad (23,000) and Narvik (18,000). Smaller towns which act as regional centers include Svolvær, Sortland, and Leknes. The district covers 23 municipalities and an area of 11,600 square kilometers (4,500 sq mi). The Norwegian Police Service has Central Hålogaland as a police district with head office in Harstad.
The Ulvin Tunnel is a 3,985-meter (13,074 ft) railway tunnel running through Morskogen and Ulvin in Eidsvoll, Norway. The single-tube tunnel carried double track of the Dovre Line, allowing it to bypass the village of Morskogen. Construction was part of a 17-kilometer (11 mi) new double track between Langset and Kleverud. This was built jointly with the new European Road E6 four-lane motorway. The Ulvin Tunnel will allow for higher speeds and more traffic on the Dovre Line.
