The Norwegian Sociological Association (Norwegian : Norsk sosiologforening) is a scholarly and professional society for sociologists in Norway. It was established in 1949. It is a member association of the Nordic Sociological Association, the European Sociological Association and the International Sociological Association. Each year it hosts an annual conference, called the Winter Conference. [1] Through the Nordic Sociological Association, it owns the English-language journal Acta Sociologica with the sociological associations in the other Nordic countries.

Fredrikstad Stadion Nowegian football stadium

The Fredrikstad Stadion is a football stadium in Fredrikstad, Norway and home of the Norwegian First Division team Fredrikstad FK. It is located in an area which formerly used to be a large shipyard, but which nowadays is the technological centre of the city, with several companies and a college. The frontage of the stadium is built to replicate the original halls of the workshop. This makes it architecturally unique. The stadium was built to replace Old Fredrikstad Stadion, which was considered to be one of the eldest and most worn-out stadium in the country. The total capacity is approximately 12,560, all seated. There is a possibility to expand it furthermore, to some 15,000 seats.

Erik Grønseth

Erik Grønseth was a Norwegian sociologist, Professor of Sociology at the University of Oslo from 1971 to 1989, and "one of the post-war pioneers of sociology" in Norway. He is regarded as one of the founders of men's studies. Together with Harriet Holter, he is also considered the founder of Norwegian family sociology.

<i>Norwegian Journal of Sociology</i> Academic journal

The Norwegian Journal of Sociology is a Norwegian, peer-reviewed academic journal within the field of sociology. It is published by Universitetsforlaget on behalf of all the institutes of sociology at Norway's universities, with support from the Research Council of Norway. The journal is the result of the 2016 merger of the journals, Sosiologi i dag, established in 1971, and Sosiologisk tidsskrift, established in 1993, which were both among the then three leading social science journals in Norway; the journal also obtained its present title at the time of the merger. The journal's joint editors-in-chief are Kari Stefansen, May-Len Skilbrei and Arve Hjelseth.

Margunn Bjørnholt is a Norwegian sociologist and economist. She is a Research Professor at the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies (NKVTS).

Bergljot Larsson

Bergljot Larsson was a Norwegian nurse, educator, editor and organizational leader. She was a founding member of the Norwegian Nurses Organization which she chaired from 1912 until 1935.

Sigrun Hoel is a Norwegian lawyer, academic, government official and feminist. She served as the 22nd President of the Norwegian Association for Women's Rights (NKF) from 1984 to 1988, succeeding supreme court justice Karin M. Bruzelius. The Nordic Pediatric Society is a medical association for pediatricians in the Nordic countries. Its member organisations include the Danish Paediatric Society, the Norwegian Society of Pediatricians, the Swedish Paediatric Society, the Finnish Pediatric Association and the Icelandic Pediatric Association.

The Norwegian Sociology Canon is an award presented from 2009 to 2011 to 25 nonfiction texts that are considered to have had the greatest influence on sociology in Norway. The list of works was published in the journal of the Norwegian Sociology Association.
