Nula Conwell (born 24 May 1959) is an English character actress.
Conwell is best known for playing W.P.C/W.D.C. Viv Martella in the long-running crime UK series The Bill from 1984 to 1993, [1] until her character was killed off. She is also known for her role as Maureen the barmaid in five episodes of Only Fools and Horses . She was asked to appear in the 1985 Christmas special To Hull and Back , but was unable to continue appearing in the sitcom when The Bill producers would not release her to their rival channel. [2] She also appeared as Kathleen the nurse in David Lynch's 1980 Oscar nominated film The Elephant Man and also had roles in Telford's Change and Bloody Kids .

The ninth series of The Bill, a British television drama, consisted of 155 episodes, broadcast between 5 January – 31 December 1993. The series was released on DVD for the first time on 3 October 2012, in Australia. As of the year's first episode, the series increased its weekly output to three 30-minute episodes, having been twice-weekly half-hour episodes since 1988. The series saw a number of high-profile exits, including a shooting murder for WDC Viv Martella, the dismissal of DS Ted Roach for assaulting Inspector Andrew Monroe and the mysterious at the time exit of DI Frank Burnside, whose exit reason would not be revealed until he returned in 1998. Characters from previous years joined the series including DS Danny Pearce, who appeared as a DC from another station the previous year. In addition, Chief Inspector Philip Cato and DI Harry Haines joined with new names after past guest stints; Haines, like Pearce, appeared the year before but was named DS Ken Haines, while Cato had appeared in 1990 as Inspector Twist at Barton Street, the man who ended the career of Sergeant Tom Penny. Cato was given Twist's backstory despite the name change, leading to animosity from the Sun Hill officers in several of his scenes.

She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 5 July 1989. Phillips audition for the role and informed her she had been successful via an answering machine message. She began filming the same week but Phillips was immediately unhappy with her experience. Viv was written out of the series the following year and she made her final appearance during the episode broadcast on 25 May 1990. Phillips later revealed that she found the role to be unchallenging and the show's writing repetitive. Phillips reprised the role in 1991, for the UK theatre tour of Home and Away: The Musical.

Leslie Michaelson is a fictional character from the American CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. Created and introduced by former head writer Maria Arena Bell, the role is portrayed by Angell Conwell, who made her first appearance on the episode that aired on December 2, 2010. Bell introduced Leslie as a high-powered attorney who would air on a recurring status. In December 2012, after two years on recurring, Conwell was placed on contract by executive producer Jill Farren Phelps however, was dropped back to recurring in August 2014, appearing until June 2017. Conwell made a guest appearance on April 25, 2019, to honour Kristoff St. John's character Neil Winters passing, as well as the actor's real life death.
