Octave One is a group of American techno musicians composed of siblings Lenny Burden and Lawrence Burden, sometimes associated with their three other brothers, Lorne Burden, Lynell Burden and Lance Burden. In 1989, the group debuted on Derrick May's Transmat record label with the single "I Believe". [1] In 1990, "I Believe" was included on the compilation Techno 2: The Next Generation (10 Records). [2] Also In 1990, with their brother Lynell, they formed the record label 430 West Records to release the vinyl record Octave One "The Octivation EP". [3] Octave One have remixed recordings for Massive Attack, Joey Negro, DJ Rolando, Steve Bug, John Thomas, The Trammps, Rhythm is Rhythm, and Inner City. [4] In 2000, Octave One released their most commercially successful recording, "Blackwater". In 2002, "Blackwater" was remixed by the band with a reworked live string arrangement performed by the Urban Soul Orchestra in London, England. The single was re-released by Concept Music (United Kingdom), Ministry of Sound/Voidcom (Germany), Vendetta Records (Spain), and Tinted (Australia) in the same year. [4] It peaked at #47 (February 2002) and #69 (September 2002) in the UK Singles Chart. [5]

Mainly known for their techno recordings, the Burden brothers have also produced many recordings of house music and other electronic genres using other pseudonyms, in particular Random Noise Generation, Metro D (with Terrell Langston) and Never On Sunday. [8]

The Advent is a British electronic music act. It was founded in 1993 by Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean. Soon after leaving school, Ferreira began working as an engineer at Jack Trax Records, a job which enabled him to glimpse first-hand the work of such artists as Derrick May and Marshall Jefferson. He began recording in 1988 with C.J. Bolland as Space Opera and also recorded the first single for Fragile before meeting McBean, a top DJ who had worked with Keith Franklin of Bang the Party as the DJ team KCC.

Jimmy Edgar is an American electronic music producer, conceptual artist and sound designer from Detroit, Michigan. They initially released music under the names Michaux and Kristuit Salu and Morris Nightingale, before formally releasing their first solo album Color Strip (2006) on Warp Records after they signed to the label at age 18. This release was followed by XXX (2010) on !K7 Records in 2010, and after their last solo LP Majenta (2012), Edgar has since released several EPs on the imprint New Reality Now, often designing the album covers with Pilar Zeta.

Phillip Krokidis, known professionally as Phil K, was an Australian electronic music DJ and record producer from Melbourne. He was a member of the "Aussie breaks" music scene which also includes other Melbourne DJs such as Nubreed and Andy Page. In addition to DJing, Phil K also produced alongside Habersham and Dave Preston in The Operators and was also a member of Hi-Fi Bugs and Lostep. 430 West Records is an independent record label based in Detroit, Michigan, United States, formed in 1990 by Lawrence Burden, Lenny Burden, and Lynell Burden, just months after recording their debut record for Derrick Mays' Transmat label. 430 West was formed as an outlet for the Burden Brothers' own productions. Later it was expanded to be the home for releases by electronic music artists Jay Denham, Terrence Parker, Eddie Fowlkes, Aux 88, Wild Planet, and Gerald Mitchell, among others. In 1998, 430 West also became the musical home for the trio's youngest brothers, Lance Burden and Lorne Burden.

Martin Johan Stääf, also known as Liquid Stranger, is a Swedish-born electronic musician, described by Generation Bass as "the epitome of Transnational Dubstep covering everything from Latin, Asian, Eastern European and Jamaican Dancehall dubs." Martin Stääf is known for his experimental approach to composition where he merges genres to create a unique style of music. Martin Woods of Chillbase describes Liquid Stranger's music as a "unique blend of Ambience, Big Band Jazz, Dubstep and Psychedelica drizzled over electronic Dub Reggae grooves." Stääf lives in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Colin Bailey, better known by his stage name Drums of Death, is a London-based electronic musician, originally from Scotland. His music is a blend of techno, house, and electro. He is known for energetic and exciting live shows and has said in interviews that his debut album is all "Love songs and rave horns".

Bvdub is an American electronic music producer originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2007 he has released more than 50 albums and EPs under this name and other pseudonyms including his birth name, Brock Van Wey. Residing in Shaoxing, China, he produces ambient and ambient techno music that has received critical acclaim from the likes of online magazines Resident Advisor, Headphone Commute and Gridface. His first release as Brock Van Wey, White Clouds Drift On And On, was included in RA's Top 20 Albums of 2009.

Oscar Mulero, born Óscar Mulero Crecente, is a techno producer and DJ from Madrid, and the owner of contemporary record labels PoleGroup Recordings and Warm Up Recordings. He has majorly influenced the Spanish electronic scene since the early 1990s and been a leading exponent of underground techno since his productions in the early 2000s. In the late 1980s, he started playing in Madrid clubs like New World and Overdrive, which were oriented to genres like EBM or techno. This is often considered the start of his professional career. In 1994, he also became the founder of The Omen Club in Madrid. He has runs his own record labels Warm Up Recordings since 2000 and PoleGroup Recordings aka Pole Recordings since 2004. Each label's catalog contains more than 100 releases. His 2012 album Black Propaganda received largely positive reviews in the online techno community.

Ben Wa was an American electronic band from Oakland, California comprising Anthony "House" Chaba and Eric Ware, who had worked together before in bands such as Limbomaniacs, Big Janitor, and MCM & the Monster.
