Derrick Offei-Awuku (born 1993) in Tema, better known professionally as Offei is a Ghanaian singer, guitarist, songwriter and philanthropist. [1] [2] Offei is popularly known for his hit single, 'Fi Mano' [3] which features Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer, Patoranking. [4]

Early life

Born to Ghanaian parents, Offei hails from the Eastern Region of Ghana. He received high school education at Tema Senior High School and proceeded to study Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Ghana, Legon.

Career

Offei has been doing music actively since releasing his debut single "Let It Go" in 2017 which gave the world a dose of his silky vocal prowess. He has consistently released successive singles, including; "Communication", "Humanbeing" featuring Kwesi Arthur, "Body Whine", "LowKey", "Maria", "Santorini", "Fi Mano", [5] among others. Each of these songs has enjoyed immense radio plays and has been part of credible playlists on all digital platforms across the world. In 2019, Offei signed a label management deal with US-based music company, Dwoods Productions. [6]

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Ijegun-Egba Satellite Town, Patoranking hails from Onicha, Ebonyi State. He started his music career doing underground collaborations, with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. He signed a record deal with K-Solo's Igberaga Records in 2010, releasing "Up in D Club" under the outfit. Patoranking became a protégé of Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on his song "Alubarika". In February 2014, he signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released "Girlie O", a single that put him in the limelight. On 9 February 2015, Patoranking announced on Instagram that he signed a distribution deal with VP Records. on September 28 Patoranking released a song titled Abule which he released ahead of his album scheduled to be released later in 2020. He once said, in 2020 that he once got inspiration for song on a football pitch while playing football.

Free The Youth is a crew of fashion entrepreneurs in Ghana formed in the year 2013 by Jonathan Coffie, Winfred Mensah, Richard Ormano and Kelly Foli. As the purpose of their initiative was well understood by their fellows, their initiative has grown to become a good brand across the globe. There are now of ten key players in the streetwear industry in addition to the founders. Among the ten key players are; photographer Philip N. Their initial goal was to simply showcase some Ghanaian street-wear via social media. Their initiative has been developed into a two-pronged entity, the brand and the NGO. Both lend to the grand goal of making it possible for art-based, youth-oriented, sustainable programming.
