Olsi Baze

Olsi Baze (born February 26, 1977) is a columnist, writer and human rights activist. [1] From 1999 until 2008 he studied politics at University Paris 8. He graduated with a Ph.D. degree in geopolitics in 2005. [2] He has taught international politics and is well known in region of the Balkans for his publications, in international newspapers. [3] Mr. Baze is author of two books "The integration of Albania in a regional and world hierarchic order" and "Shadows and lights on the International Relations" [4]

As a board member of Albanian human rights group, he participated in the elaboration of the project low on defending the children's rights specially the cases war victims. [5] One of his major fights was the introduction on the Lustration Law, with the team of five personalities, in the national parliament. The Lustration Law claimed the clanking[ clarification needed ] of public administration of people who has committed crimes during the socialist regime.

Albin Kurti is a Kosovar Albanian politician who has been serving as Prime Minister of Kosovo since 2021, having previously held the office from February to June 2020. He came to prominence in 1997 as the vice-president of the University of Pristina student union, and a main organizer of non-violent student demonstrations of 1997 and 1998. Kurti then worked in Adem Demaçi's office when the latter became the political representative of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). Kurti has been a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo since 2010 in three consecutive legislatures.

Albania does not recognize same-sex marriages or civil unions. A bill to legalize same-sex marriage was introduced to Parliament in 2009 with the support of Prime Minister Sali Berisha, but was never put to a vote.

Parashqevi Qiriazi was an Albanian teacher of the Qiriazi family who dedicated her life to the Albanian alphabet and to the instruction of written Albanian language. She was a woman participant at the Congress of Manastir, which decided the form of the Albanian alphabet, and the founder of the Yll' i Mengjesit, a women's association. Parashqevi was also a participant in the Paris Peace Conference, 1919 as a member of the Albanian-American community. She was the sister of Sevasti Qiriazi, who was the director of the first Albanian School for girls in Korça, opened in 1891.

Gazment Bardhi is an Albanian lawyer and politician who formerly served as Albania's Minister of Justice in 2017. A noted legal expert in Albanian politics, he played an important role in the drafting of the much debated vetting law, one of the key components of the country's judicial reform process. On January 19, 2019 Bardhi was elected as General Secretary of the Democratic Party, defeating his opponent Dorjan Teliti by a vote of 277–44. Two years later, he was elected member of the assembly on September 10, 2021 to serve in the 31st legislature, representing the Democratic Party in Elbasan. He was expelled from the Democratic Party on September 10, 2023 and in that same month, joined Sali Berisha's rival faction.

Haki Xhakli is a Kosovo Albanian painter and a university professor from Kosovo. He is known for his composition paintings where figures of horse, castle and woman dominate.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime</span> Albanian law enforcement entity

Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK is an independent judicial entity tasked with investigating corruption and organized crime at the highest levels of government and society in Albania. It consists of the National Bureau of Investigation, the Special Prosecution and the Special Courts. Τhe legal basis of the entity is Article 148/dh of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania and Law No. 95/2016 "On the organization and functioning of institutions for the fight against corruption and organized crime".
