Olumu was the founder of Iwoye at the historical site of Ahoro-ile, a rocky terrain and valley south of the present-day Iwoye. Effects of war and of course the desire to engage in productive agriculture and concentration of administration caused the movement from Ahoro-ile to where Iwoye is sited today. Although, the community has expanded rapidly since the border demarcation in 1895, straddled between Nigeria and Benin Republic and houses now extending to the old site at Ahoro-ile. However the famous Ogun Agbade shrine remains the major symbolic boundary between the old site and the present Iwoye-Ketu. The title of Olumu is preserved as the Head of the Kingmakers in Iwoye to this day. [1] He was the founder of "Iwoye Ketu" who brought Orisa Oluwa, a deity of Yoruba mythology that forbids the use of Umbrella in Iwoye-Ketu. [2]
