Oni is a progressive metal band formed in Canada by singer Jake Oni. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Jake Oni is a resident of the Cayman Islands, and runs the Cayman-based music company Ironshore Group. [6]
ONI formed in 2014. [7] They released their debut album, Ironshore, in 2016, on Black Light Media Records and Metal Blade Records. [8] Longtime Lamb of God producer Josh Wilbur produced and mixed the album and the song "The Only Cure" featured Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. [9]
Wilbur produced Oni's Alone EP, released by Blacklight Media/Metal Blade in 2019. [10] The same year, Jake Oni contributed guest vocals to Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's solo album, Anesthetic . He appeared on the song "The Never," alongside Chuck Billy, David Ellefson, and Roy Mayorga, [11] and is credited as cowriter on "Cross Off," featuring late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. [12]
Morton and Wilbur co-wrote and produced "The Lie," released by Oni in February 2022, with Jake credited as the only member of the band. [13] American trap metal duo City Morgue appeared on another song called "War Ender", with a music video being released on April 13.
On April 28, 2022, Oni announced their second album, Loathing Light, which was released on June 17. The band also released a music video for the new song "Secrets", which features Iggy Pop and Randy Blythe from Lamb of God. [14]
In June 2023, Oni released "Silence In A Room Of Lies", a collaboration with Jared Dines. [15] A music video for the song was released alongside it, which features footage from a documentary shot by Dines.
ONI has toured with Gojira, Max & Iggor Cavalera, The Devin Townsend Project, Death Angel, Megadeth and Children of Bodom. They also performed at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest with Randy Blythe. [16] [17]
On August 24, 2023, Oni released a new song, "Aura", featuring Howard Jones (Light the Torch, ex-Killswitch Engage) and Josh Gilbert (Spiritbox, ex-As I Lay Dying), and also announced their third album, The Silver Line, would be released on September 22. [18]

Lamb of God is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1994 as Burn the Priest, the group consists of bassist John Campbell, vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, and drummer Art Cruz. The band is considered a significant member of the new wave of American heavy metal movement.
As the Palaces Burn is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Lamb of God, released under Prosthetic Records on May 6, 2003. The album was produced by Devin Townsend and the band itself, and received considerably more airplay than their previous effort, with three singles. As of 2013, As The Palaces Burn has sold 270,000 copies since its original release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Ashes of the Wake is the fourth studio album and first major-label release by American heavy metal band Lamb of God, released in 2004 via Epic Records. The album debuted at number 27 on the Billboard 200, selling 35,000 copies in its first week and was rated by Guitar World as the 49th greatest Guitar Album of all Time. This album also was rated by Metal Hammer as the 5th greatest Metal Album of The 21st Century. The album was inspired by the events that took place during the war in Iraq with songs such as "Ashes of the Wake", "Now You've Got Something to Die For", "One Gun" and "The Faded Line". The quote at the beginning of "Omerta" is a paraphrase of the Sicilian Mafia's code of silence. As of August 2010, Ashes of the Wake has sold 398,000 copies in the United States. Ten years after its release, as of 2014, sales have topped 400,000 copies sold and is Lamb of God’s best-selling record. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in February 2016.
Burn the Priest is the debut studio album by the American heavy metal band Burn the Priest. The album was released on April 4, 1999, by Legion Records. It was the band's only release before being re-named to Lamb of God until the release of Legion: XX, and also the only album by the band to feature guitarist Abe Spear.
David RandallBlythe is an American vocalist, best known as the lead singer and lyricist of heavy metal band Lamb of God and Burn The Priest. He has also performed guest vocals for Cannabis Corpse, A Life Once Lost, Overkill, Gojira, Pitch Black Forecast, Eyehategod, Eluveitie, Bad Brains, Soulfly, Clutch, Body Count, DevilDriver, Suicide Silence, Doyle, Metal Allegiance, and Voodoo Glow Skulls, and is the lead singer of side-project band Halo of Locusts.
James Shanahan, known professionally as Jamey Jasta, is an American vocalist, best known as the lead singer of metalcore band Hatebreed and sludge metal band Kingdom of Sorrow. Jasta also fronts metalcore band Icepick. Prior to Hatebreed, he fronted the hardcore band Jasta 14.
Mark Duane Morton is an American musician who is the lead guitarist and one of the founding members of the groove metal band Lamb of God.
"Wake Up Dead" is a song by American thrash metal band Megadeth, and was the lead single from their 1986 album Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?, written by Dave Mustaine. It has since become a staple at their concerts, being their sixth most played song.
"Redneck" is the first single from the heavy metal band Lamb of God, from their fifth album Sacrament. A music video was also produced for the song. Vocalist Randy Blythe described the song's meaning in an interview with the magazine Metal Hammer:

Wrath is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Lamb of God. It was internationally released on February 23, 2009 via Roadrunner Records in Europe, Japan and Australia, and on February 24, 2009 via Epic Records in the U.S and Canada. It peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, becoming the band's most successful album on the chart, and sold 68,000 units in the U.S. during its first week of release. Alissa White-Gluz is a Canadian singer, best known as the lead vocalist of the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, and former lead vocalist and founding member of the Canadian metalcore band the Agonist. Her vocal style includes both growling and clean vocals (singing). Although primarily associated with melodic death metal and metalcore, she has appeared as a guest vocalist for power metal, symphonic metal and deathcore bands, notably Kamelot, Delain, Carnifex and Powerwolf, and has performed live with Nightwish and Tarja Turunen.

It is the last album to feature founding drummer Chris Adler before his departure from Lamb of God in July 2019.
Ritual is the eleventh album by American heavy metal band Soulfly, released on October 19, 2018, through Nuclear Blast. It is the third Soulfly album with Max Cavalera's son Zyon behind the drum kit, and the last album to feature lead guitarist Marc Rizzo, and features musical guests Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, Ross Dolan of Immolation, and Mark Damon of The Pretty Reckless. Lamb of God marks the first studio album of all-new material by the band since 2015's VII: Sturm und Drang, making it the longest gap between their albums, and the first to feature Art Cruz as the replacement for original drummer Chris Adler, who left the band in July 2019. Lamb of God was once again produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, who has worked with the band since 2006's Sacrament.
