The Ranji Trophy is the premier domestic first-class cricket championship played in India and organized annually by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The teams representing regional and state cricket associations participate. BCCI founded the championship in year 1934, since then it is organised across various grounds and stadiums in India.
In India, the Bengal cricket team represents the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) in domestic competition. Based at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, they have played first-class cricket since 1935. Bengal have won the Ranji Trophy twice and been runners-up 13 times. It has won the Ranji Trophy once and finished as runner-up once. It has also won the Irani Cup once. The great Indian all-rounder, Kapil Dev, played for Haryana at the domestic level.
The Bihar cricket team represents the state of Bihar in Indian domestic cricket competitions. It is run by Bihar Cricket Association.
Karumanaseri Narayanaiyer Ananthapadmanabhan is an Indian former first-class cricketer from the state of Kerala. He played for the India "A" national team in international cricket and for South Zone and Kerala in Indian domestic cricket. He is a former captain of Kerala state Ranji Trophy team. He now serves as an umpire at the first-class level and officiates in all the major domestic cricket tournaments in India, including the Ranji Trophy and Indian Premier League. In August 2020, Ananthapadmanabhan was promoted to the International Panel of ICC Umpires.
Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu is an Indian former cricketer. He played 61 limited overs matches for the India national cricket team between 2013 and 2019 and is a right-handed middle-order batsman, who occasionally keeps wicket and bowls right-arm off breaks. He played for Hyderabad in domestic cricket, Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket.
Dhawal Sunil Kulkarni is an Indian cricketer as well as first class cricketer. He is a right arm medium-pace bowler and right-handed lower order batsman.
The 2015–16 Ranji Trophy was the 82nd season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It was contested by 27 teams divided into three groups of nine teams each. The top three teams from Groups A and B advanced to the quarterfinals along with the top two teams from Group C. For this season the schedule splits into two stages, the first is a league stage and the second being a knock-out stage. The league stage starts on 1 October 2015 and ends on 4 December 2015 and the knock-out stage starts on 3 February 2016 and ends on 28 February 2016. The 2015–16 Ranji Trophy will be followed by the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Deodhar Trophy.
The 1997–98 Ranji Trophy was the 64th season of the Ranji Trophy cricket championship. Karnataka won the final match against Uttar Pradesh on first innings lead.
Jay Bista is an Indian cricketer who plays for Uttarakhand in domestic cricket. He is a batting all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off break. He represented Mumbai at the Under-16 and Under-19 levels before making his first-class cricket debut in November 2015 during the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. He made his List A debut on 10 December 2015 in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored his maiden first-class century on 6 March 2016 in the 2015–16 Irani Cup.
Prerak Mankad is an Indian cricketer who plays for Saurashtra. On 24 February 2016 he made his first-class debut in the final of the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. He made his List A debut for Saurashtra in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 25 February 2017.

Captains and coaches were supportive of the change. Chhattisgarh cricket team made their debut in the competition, becoming the 28th team to compete in this edition of the Ranji Trophy. Mumbai were the defending champions. Gujarat beat Mumbai in the final by 5 wickets to win their first title.

Faisal Moosa Mamlekar Shaikh, is a first-class cricketer who played for Goa and Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. He was born in Bombay, Maharashtra. Faisal is a right-hand batsman and right-arm offbreak bowler.
Shivam Dube is an Indian International cricketer who plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls right-arm at medium pace. He made his international debut for the India cricket team in November 2019.
The 2017–18 Ranji Trophy was the 84th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament that took place in India between October 2017 and January 2018. Vidarbha won the tournament, beating Delhi by 9 wickets in the final, to win their first Ranji Trophy title. Vidarbha made their Ranji Trophy debut in the 1957–58 season, making it the third-longest wait before a team won their maiden title. Vidarbha's captain, Faiz Fazal, said that "winning the Ranji Trophy has been the biggest achievement in my career".
The 2021–22 Ranji Trophy was the 87th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. The tournament was split into two phases, with the league stage being played from 17 February to 15 March 2022, and the knockout phase played from 6 to 26 June 2022. Due to the delayed start of the tournament because of the COVID-19 pandemic, teams were split into eight Elite groups, instead of five as per previous editions, and the Plate Group. The seven teams that won their Elite Group with the best points progressed to the knockout phase. They were joined by the winner of the pre-quarter-final match between the Elite Group winning team with the fewest points and the winner of the Plate Group.
The 2022–23 Ranji Trophy was the 88th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It was played from 13 December 2022 and was finished on 19 February 2023. Madhya Pradesh were the defending champions, winning their first Ranji Trophy title previous season.
