Opera Nomadi is Italy's largest Romani organisation. It was founded in 1963 to combat discrimination and prejudice against the Romani people. Hostility towards the Romanies in Italy has been growing in recent years and in 2008 the organisation criticised the indifference of Italian to the deaths of two Roma children on a beach - the organisation said the reaction by those on the beach "showed a terrible lack of sensitivity and respect." [1]
On 22 June 2005 it signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education, University and Research for the protection of Gypsy, nomadic and traveling minors, in which the ministry was committed, among other things, to promote initiatives to combat early school-leaving and early school-leaving for Roma, Sinti and Camminanti minors, to promote their integration and to promote the training and updating of teachers and operators. On 23 June 2005, the representatives of the association participated in a hearing at the Parliamentary Commission for Children, as part of a fact-finding survey on children in a state of abandonment or semi-abandonment and on the forms for its protection and reception. [3]
On 10 May 2007, the Veneto Regional Coordination of Opera Nomadi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Regional School Office for Veneto which provides, among its general objectives, the sensitization and qualification of school staff, the involvement of the families of Sinti, Roma and walking students and the implementation of awareness-raising initiatives among the Veneto population on the problems of their inclusion in school. Racism Breaks the Game was a three-day campaign in Romania designed to combat racism in association football, particularly against the Romani minority, as well as to "stimulate social dialogue and promote tolerance and fair-play through football". The campaign, which took place between October 27 and 29, 2006, was a joint effort between the Romanian Football Federation, the National Council for Combating Discrimination, the Open Society Institute in Romania, the Romanian Agency for Press Monitoring and the European Roma Grassroots Organisation.
Anti-Romani sentiment is hostility, prejudice, discrimination or racism which is specifically directed at Romani people. Non-Romani itinerant groups in Europe such as the Yenish, Irish and Highland Travellers are often given the name "gypsy" and confused with the Romani people. As a result, sentiments which were originally directed at the Romani people are also directed at other traveler groups and they are often referred to as "antigypsy" sentiments.

The club withdrew from Eccellenza Lazio, the fifth tier of national football in 2019. As of 2019, the club focus on youth sector only.

The Documentation and Cultural Centre of German Sinti and Roma was established in Heidelberg, Germany, in the early 1990s, as a memorial to Sinti and Roma people who were killed by the National Socialists Party. After several years of extension work collecting stories from the victims, conducting research, and conversion, the building complex was ceremonially opened to the public on 16 March 1997, and was supported by the attendance of many Roma and Sinti survivors. It is the world's first permanent exhibition on the genocide perpetrated upon the Sinti and Roma by the Nazis. The documentation Centre has three levels and covers an area of almost 700 square meters, and traces the history and stories of the persecution of the Sinti and Roma under National Socialism. The institution is overseen by Central Council of German Sinti and Roma, supported by the city of Heidelberg, and is the beneficiary of special funds from the German Federal Government and the land of Baden-Württemberg.
Plebiscito.eu, originally known as Plebiscite 2013, is a supposedly cross-party nonpartisan committee that campaigns for the independence of Veneto from Italy. Its main leaders have been Lodovico Pizzati, a former secretary of Venetian Independence (IV), one of the most active Venetist-separatist parties so far, and Gianluca Busato, who came to regional prominence in March 2014 as the main organiser of the plebiscito, an online referendum on independence.
The Venetian independence referendum of 2014 was an unofficial, non-binding, online and privately organised poll held among residents of Veneto, one of the 20 regions of Italy, 16–21 March 2014. The vote, known also as the "digital plebiscite" or "Plebiscito.eu", was promoted by Plebiscite 2013, a Venetian nationalist organisation led by Gianluca Busato.
