James Paul Theakston is an English television presenter, producer, and actor. He co-presented the former Saturday morning BBC One children's show Live & Kicking, alongside Zoe Ball between 1996 and 1999. He co-hosted BBC One's former music programme Top of the Pops between 1998 and 2003. He currently co-hosts the national breakfast show with Amanda Holden on Heart Radio. CD:UK, stylised as cd:uk, is a defunct music television programme which ran in the United Kingdom from 29 August 1998 until 1 April 2006. Originally run in conjunction with SMTV Live, the programme aired on ITV as a rival to the BBC's Live & Kicking and was the replacement for The Chart Show, which had been airing on the network for nine and a half years.

Philip Middlemiss is an English television, radio actor and businessman, best known for playing bookmaker Des Barnes in ITV's Coronation Street between 1990 and 1998. The character was killed off, ordered by Brian Park, who was the programme's producer at the time. He subsequently appeared in ITV's Where the Heart Is for a few series in the 2000s.
