Orchid Bay is a 114-acre (0.46 km2) residential community on the Chetumal Bay in the Corozal District of northern Belize. [1] Its New Urbanist architecture is influenced by British Colonial and Spanish Colonial styles of the Caribbean. [1] Great Land Holdings L.P. ("GLH") is its owner and developer. [2] It is part of Punta Alegre, which comprises 4,000 acres (16 km2) of sea frontage between the Maya ruins at Cerros to the west and the Shipstern Nature Reserve to the east. [2] [3] Punta Alegre Water Services (PAWS), the local utility, is a division of GLH. [4] Tradewinds Bar and Grill [5] is next to the Orchid Bay Beach Club, which includes dozens of Maya inspired casitas. [6] The thirteen room Crimson Orchid Inn is in the Orchid Bay neighborhood named Pesacadores Park. In 2010, Orchid Bay was featured on HGTV's International House Hunters, when a casita was purchased on the program.
