District 24 of the Oregon State Senate comprises parts of Clackamas and Multnomah counties. Since January 2021, it has been represented by Democrat Kayse Jama, who was appointed unanimously by the Clackamas and Multnomah County Boards of Commissioners to replace Shemia Fagan after she was elected Oregon Secretary of State.
District boundaries have changed over time. Therefore, senators before 2021 may not represent the same constituency as today. From 1993 until 2003, the district covered the southern Oregon Coast; from 2003 until 2013, it shifted to cover outer east Portland and Happy Valley; and from 2013 until 2023, it lost much of its southeastern portion, including Happy Valley, while gaining parts of Clackamas.
The current district is somewhat similar to its previous iteration. It regained its coverage of east Portland while having its Clackamas County lands shift to the southeast, now covering greater Damascus and only the eastern part of Happy Valley.

Oregon's 5th congressional district stretches from the Southeast suburbs of Portland through the eastern half of the Willamette Valley and then reaches across the Cascades to take in Sisters and Bend. It includes a sliver of Multnomah County, the majority of Clackamas County, the rural eastern portion of Marion County, all of Linn County, a very small section of southwest Jefferson County, and the populated northwest portion of Deschutes County. It was significantly redrawn when Oregon gained a 6th congressional district after the 2020 census.
Oregon's 3rd congressional district covers most of Multnomah County, including Gresham, Troutdale, and most of Portland east of the Willamette River. It also includes the northeastern part of Clackamas County and all of Hood River County. Generally, most of Portland east of the Willamette River is in the 3rd District.
Rod Monroe is a Canadian-born American politician who served in the Oregon Senate, representing District 24 in the middle part of Multnomah County, which includes most of eastern Portland and the city of Happy Valley.
Shemia Patricia Fagan is an American lawyer and politician who served as the Oregon secretary of state from 2021 to 2023. She previously served as a Democratic member of the Oregon Senate, representing Senate District 24 from in 2019 to 2021. She also represented House District 51 from 2013 to 2017. In 2020, Fagan was elected as Oregon Secretary of State.
Patrick Sheehan is an American Republican former politician and real estate agent. He served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2011 until 2013, representing the 51st district, which includes Clackamas, Happy Valley, Sunnyside, Damascus, and parts of southeast Portland.
The 2016 elections for the Oregon Legislative Assembly determined the composition of both houses for the 79th Oregon Legislative Assembly. The Republican and Democratic parties held primary elections on May 17, 2016 with general elections on November 8.
Janelle Sojourner Bynum is an American Democratic politician, restaurateur, and former engineer serving as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives. She currently represents the 39th district, which covers northern Clackamas County, including most of Happy Valley and parts of Oregon City, Milwaukie and the surrounding area.

It is composed of Oregon House districts 37 and 38. It is currently represented by Democrat Rob Wagner of Lake Oswego.
Oregon's 21st Senate district comprises parts of Clackamas and Multnomah counties, including Milwaukie and Oak Grove as well as parts of southeast Portland. It is composed of Oregon House districts 41 and 42. The district is currently represented by Democrat Kathleen Taylor of Portland.
District 23 of the Oregon State Senate comprises parts of Portland and the entirety of Maywood Park in Multnomah County. The district is composed of Oregon House districts 45 and 46. It is currently represented by Democrat Michael Dembrow of Portland.
District 25 of the Oregon State Senate comprises parts of Multnomah County centered around the city of Gresham. The district is composed of Oregon House districts 49 and 50. It is currently represented by Democrat Chris Gorsek of Troutdale.
District 26 of the Oregon State Senate comprises all of Hood River County, as well as parts of Clackamas, Multnomah, and Wasco counties. The district is composed of Oregon House districts 51 and 52. It is currently represented by Republican Daniel Bonham of Hood River.
A general election was held in the U.S. state of Oregon on November 3, 2020. Primary elections were held on May 19, 2020.
The 2020 Oregon Secretary of State election was held on November 3, 2020, to elect the Oregon Secretary of State, the highest office in the state after the governor. Incumbent Republican Bev Clarno had agreed not to run for a full term. Clarno was appointed by Governor Kate Brown to replace Dennis Richardson, who died of cancer during his term.
Kayse Jama is an American politician currently serving as a Democratic member of the Oregon State Senate, representing Oregon's 24th Senate district, which includes parts of Clackamas and Multnomah Counties. Jama was appointed by the Clackamas and Multnomah County Board of Commissioners to replace Shemia Fagan, who was elected Oregon Secretary of State in 2021.
Kate Lieber is an American politician, currently currently serving as Majority Leader of the Oregon State Senate. She represents Oregon's 14th Senate district, which includes the cities of Beaverton, Aloha, and portions of Washington and Multnomah counties.
Cheryl Myers is an American politician serving as the deputy Oregon secretary of state and tribal liaison since 2021. She was the acting secretary of state in 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Myers ran for the Oregon House of Representatives in 2010 but was defeated by Republican Patrick Sheehan.
LaVonne Griffin-Valade is an American politician and author who is the Oregon Secretary of State. Following the resignation of Shemia Fagan as secretary of state, Governor Tina Kotek appointed Griffin-Valade to the office in June 2023 to complete Fagan's term, which runs until January 2025. Previously, Griffin-Valade was the Portland City Auditor and auditor for Multnomah County, Oregon. She has published four crime fiction novels as well as other essays and stories.
