District 51 of the Oregon House of Representatives is one of 60 House legislative districts in the state of Oregon. As of 2021, the district is located entirely within Clackamas County and includes Beavercreek, Canby, Eagle Creek, Estacada, and Sandy. The current representative for the district is Republican Christine Drazan of Canby. [1] [2]

  2. James Hieb was the incumbent in this election. He previously represented District 39 after being appointed to the spot after Christine Drazan resigned to run for governor. He was moved to this district due to redistricting following the 2020 United States census.
  3. Christine Drazen beat [6] the incumbent in the May primary. Drazan was the House District 39 Representative from 2019 to 2022 before she resigned to run for Governor.

Christine Renee Drazan is an American politician who serves in the Oregon House of Representatives from the 51st district as a member of the Republican Party. She served from the 39th district from 2019 to 2022, before losing in the 2022 Oregon gubernatorial election to Democrat Tina Kotek. During her tenure in the state house she served as the minority leader from 2019 to 2021.

James Hieb is an American politician who was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives for the 51st district from 2023 to 2025. He previously represented the 39th district from 2022 to 2023.

The 83rd Oregon Legislative Assembly is the upcoming session of the Oregon Legislature. It will begin on January 21, 2025. Democrats netted one seat in both the House and the Senate to win a three-fifths supermajority in both chambers, which is required to pass new taxes or update existing taxes. However, they fell short of the two-thirds majority required to unilaterally meet quorum in both houses, needing 2 more seats in the Senate and 4 more seats in the House.
