Orekhovo was a village located in Kudykinskaya volost, Pokrovsky Uyezd, Vladimir Governorate, Imperial Russia. Since 1917 it has been part of the city of Orekhovo-Zuyevo. [1] The town played a significant part in the development of the textile sector in Imperial Russia and football in Imperial Russia. The village developed close to Nikolskoye which had been developed as a mill town by the Morozov dynasty.
The village was originally home to merchants and clergy. However, by the end of the nineteenth century the village had become industrialised, with accommodation built for factory workers.

Part of this development was called Anglichanka (Russian : Англичанка, meaning Englishwoman). This became the home of English technicians and managers who were brought to the area by the Morozovs. [2] The three Charnock brothers, – James Charnock, Clement Charnock and Harry Charnock were amongst this community and their family is regarded as pioneers of Russian football. This English community started to play football amongst themselves, but soon attracted the interest of the local Russian people, and then with the support of Ivan Vikulovich Morozov KS Orekhovo was established in 1910. [3] Little remains of this settlement, located at Ulitsa Stepana Terent'yeva, Orekhovo-Zuyevo. The houses were burnt down and the only remnant is the bowl of a fountain in a personal plot which belonged to the Charnoks. [4]

The Gorkovsky suburban railway line or Gorkovskoye line is one of eleven suburban railway lines used for suburban railway connections between Moscow, Russia, and surrounding areas, mostly in Moscow Oblast. The Gorkovsky suburban railway line connects Moscow with the station in the east, in particular, with the towns of Reutov, Balashikha, Elektrougli, Elektrostal, Noginsk, Pavlovsky Posad, Elektrogorsk, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Pokrov, Petushki, Kosteryovo, Lakinsk, and Vladimir. The stations the line serves are located in Moscow, as well as in the towns of Reutov, Balashikha, Elektrogorsk, Elektrostal, Noginsk, Pavlovsky Posad, and Orekhovo-Zuyevo in Moscow Oblast, as well as in Petushinsky District, Sobinsky District, and the city of Vladimir of Vladimir Oblast. The suburban trains have their western terminus at Moscow Kursky railway station in Moscow. In the eastern direction, the suburban trains terminate at Balashikha, Zheleznodorozhnaya, Kupavna, Fryazevo, Zakharovo, Elektrogorsk, Petushki, and Vladimir. The line is served by Moscow Railway between Moscow and Petushki and by Gorky Railway between Petushki and Vladimir. The suburban railway line follows the railway which connects Moscow with Nizhny Novgorod via Vladimir. It is fully electrified. Between Moscow and Vladimir, there are two tracks. The distance between Moscow Kurskaya railway station and Vladimir is 190 kilometres (120 mi).
Ivan Savvich Morozov was a Russian entrepreneur who took part in the creation of the Tver Manufactory. He was the son of Savva Vasilyevich Morozov, but unlike his brothers is not recognised as founding any of the Morozov companies.
Clement Joseph Charnock was an English mechanical engineer who spent much of his career in Imperial Russia and is credited with being a pioneer of football in Russia. He followed his uncle, James Charnock, who had left for Russia in 1868, when Clement was only three. Another brother, Harry Charnock, also joined them in Russia.
Zuevo was a historic village in Bogorodsky Uyezd, Moscow Governorate, Imperial Russia. It was the administrative centre of Zuevskaya volost.
