Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat was born in Havana, Cuba in 1965. Gutierrez-Boronat is an author, [1] spokesperson for the Cuban Democratic Directorate, [2] [3] member of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (a coalition of Cuban anti-communist groups inside and outside Cuba), [4] invited lecturer at Georgetown University, and community leader.
His family settled in the United States from Cuba in 1971 seeking freedom. In 1990, he co-founded Cuban American NGO, Directorio Democratico Cubano [5] "Directorio" seeking human rights and democratic change in Cuba. In 2005, Gutierrez-Boronat launched Radio República, [6] [7] a radio station offering uncensored news and information to Cubans on the island that transmits every day via shortwave, and also through AM frequencies and social media. [8] Radio República recently launched a podcast driven website allowing for programming to be downloaded and heard world-wide. The DDC receives funding from [NED]. [9] [10] The NED funds also went toward the Directorio’s Radio Republica operation.
Gutierrez-Boronat holds a PhD in the Philosophy of International Relations from the University of Miami (2005), [11] and a Master’s degree in Political Science (2001) [12] and undergraduate degrees in Communications and Political Science from Florida International University. [13]
Dr. Gutierrez Boronat has served as an international diplomat for the cause of a Free Cuba. In the past few years, he has met with President Donald J. Trump [14] and Vice President Mike Pence of the United States; with President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil; [15] with President Tsai-ing wen of the Republic of China (Taiwan); [16] with the Foreign Ministers of Costa Rica, [17] Chile, [18] and Peru; [19] and with members of Congress of the United States [20] and several Latin American countries. In October 2020, he organized the Anti-Communist and Anti-Socialist Caravan and Seminar in Miami, Florida, that according to observers drew about 30,000 vehicles and thousands of participants. [22] [23]
Dr. Gutierrez-Boronat has been instrumental in the creation of the Justice Cuba Commission, [24] composed of human rights experts from ten countries, which has investigated crimes against humanity of the Cuban government against the Cuban population, as well as in other nations. [25] [26] [27] The Justice Cuba Commission advocates for an international tribunal to try these crimes.
Gutierrez-Boronat signed the Madrid Charter , a document drafted by the far-right Spanish political party Vox that describes left-wing groups as enemies of Ibero-America involved in a "criminal project" that are "under the umbrella of the Cuban regime". [28]

Cuba–Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic relations refers to the current and historical relations between the Republic of Cuba and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR). Cuba recognized the SADR on 20 January 1980, formal diplomatic relations were established on 30 January 1980. A Sahrawi embassy was opened in Havana in April 1980, and the Cuban embassy in Algiers was accredited to the SADR.
Anyer Antonio Blanco is a Cuban dissident, whose anti-regime activities are based in his hometown of Santiago, where he was born July 28, 1987. He has served six years as a self-described political prisoner in Cuban jails until his release in 2012. Blanco is one of the few users of Twitter in Cuba. Havana-based fellow dissident Yoani Sánchez's Twitter account has been "certified" and who constantly tweets and uploads videos from within Cuba against the regime, activity which has been recognized outside Cuba.

A preliminary examination by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to analyze possible crimes against humanity committed in Venezuela is currently open. A preliminary examination was previously opened in 2006, but closed after concluding that the requirements to start an investigation had not been met. In February 2018, the ICC announced that it would open preliminary probes into alleged crimes against humanity performed by Venezuelan authorities since at least April 2017. In 2020, the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC stated that it believed there was a "reasonable basis" to believe that "since at least April 2017, civilian authorities, members of the armed forces and pro-government individuals have committed the crimes against humanity", and on 2021 ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan announced the opening of an investigation regarding the situation in the country.
Faure Chomón Mediavilla was a Cuban historian and politician. He was one of the founding members and leaders of the Directorio Revolucionario 13 de Marzo. After the triumph of the Revolution he joined Fidel Castro's government. Early in his career, he served as the Secretary of Communication and Transportation and Ambassador to the Soviet Union. Later he served as Ambassador to Vietnam and Ecuador as well as historian of the Revolution. He was also member of the National Assembly of People's Power from 1976 to his death.
Alexander Otaola Casal is a Cuban-American actor, social media influencer, and political activist. Otaola is the host of the web show Hola Ota-Ola!, an informative and satirical program that covers entertainment, news and politics. His show debuted on Cubanos por el Mundo: a cross platform media initiative, website, and YouTube channel that covers politics, news, and celebrity culture in Cuba and the Cuban exile community. Otaola is a vocal opponent of the communist regime in Cuba denouncing its human rights violations and crimes in all of his shows. In addition, in 2023, Otaola registered his candidacy to run in the Miami-Dade mayoral elections.

The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance is a coalition of anti-government human rights groups inside and outside Cuba. Their members are signatories of the "Agreement for Democracy in Cuba" drafted in 1998, and "My Signature for my Dignity" in 2020. The ACR considers the Castro regime illegal, and supports free elections and the release of all political prisoners.
Iliana Hernández Cardosa is a Cuban activist and journalist. Cardosa has worked as a reporter and correspondent for CiberCuba in Havana. As a result of her work, she has been threatened and arrested several times.
