Jesús Javier Hernández Silva was a Mexican professional wrestler known under the ring name Oro (Gold), a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. Hernández died in 1993 as a direct result of a wrestling match. He was a second-generation wrestler, and several of his brothers and cousins were also wrestlers. His nephew works for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) as Oro, Jr. as an homage to his uncle.

Azul is best known for his time in Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). He originally wrestled under the ring name El Romano but in 2009 he was given a new name and mask, Metro, a ring name that had been used by at least three other CMLL wrestlers before 2009. The "Metro" ring character was sponsored by the Mexico City Metro newspaper, incorporating the newspapers logo and color scheme in the mask and wrestling trunks. In early 2012 he was given a new image and ring name, dropping the sponsored ring name to become Diamante Azul instead. Diamante Azul is Spanish for "Blue Diamond".

Los Metálicos was a Mexican professional wrestling group, called a stable, who worked in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) between 1991 and 1993. The group worked as a tecnico faction. Most of the members of the team were brothers, part of the Hernández wrestling family, with only Bronce I, Platino I and Platino II are not related to the rest of the team. The team used metallic gimmicks such as Oro ("Gold"), Plata ("Silver"), Bronce ("Bronze"), and Platino ("Platinum") and all started out as enmascarados, or masked wrestlers with only one member being unmasked before his retirement or death.

The Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) has traditionally held an annual Reyes del Aire tournament since 2005. There was no tournament in 2010 and both 2007 and 2012 saw two Reyes del Aire tournaments. The tournament includes a varying number of wrestlers, competing in a Torneo cibernetico match, essentially a multi-man elimination match with the last competitor remaining is declared that year's Rey del Aire and is given a trophy. CMLL holds a similar tournament for their Mini-Estrella division called Pequeños Reyes del Aire. Being a professional wrestling tournament, it is not won legitimately; it is instead won via predetermined outcomes to the matches that are kept secret from the general public.
Canelo Casas is the ring name of a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a rudo wrestling character. His birth name has not been revealed, but he is a member of the extensive Casas wrestling family and a third-generation luchador, being the grandson of wrestler-turned-referee Pepe Casas and the nephew of Negro Casas, El Felino and Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal originally wrestled as Canelo Casas, but this Casas claims to not be a son but a nephew of the original Canelo Casas. He has previously worked as the masked character "Bengala" as well as "Canelo Casas, Jr."

Teucli also worked under the ring name Pequeño Bronce early in his career as a smaller version of the wrestling character Bronce. Teucli worked in the Mini-Estrella division his entire career, working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that Teucli has dwarfism as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division, which is what separates the Mexican Mini-Estrella from traditional Midget wrestling as practiced in the United States among other places.
