Oshidute Combined School

Oshidute Combined School is a school in Oshidute village, Ohakafiya circuit, in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia. [1] In 2007 it had 321 enrolled students. [2] It was founded on 12 February 1976 and accommodates students from the 1st to the 10th grade.[ citation needed ]

The school has a library and is supported by the Kirkwood School District in the US, which organised the distribution of pens and notebooks. [3]

Education in Namibia is compulsory for 10 years between the ages of 6 and 16. There are approximately 1900 schools in Namibia of which 100 are privately owned. Namibian subjects' syllabi are based on the International General Certificate of Secondary Education which is part of Cambridge International. The Constitution directs the government to provide free primary education; however, families must pay fees for uniforms, stationery, books, hostels, and school improvements.

Usko Nghihepavali Nghaamwa is a Namibian businessman, politician, and philanthropist. He's originally from Oipapakane Village in the Ohangwena Region. A member of SWAPO, Nghaamwa has been the Governor of the northern Ohangwena Region since 2005. In December 2010, he was reappointed to the position where he served until 2020. Nghaamwa is well known in the North of Namibia where he has donated to the communities by giving school infrastructure, food to the needy, scholarships, flood and drought aids and so on. In 2021, he has donate one hundred thousand Namibian dollars to the new Nust campus to be constructed in Eenhana, in the Ohangwena region his home region. He also hosts an Usko Nghaamwa Marathon, with latest events having been hosted in collaboration with Athelete Simon Shokonawa on the 18th January 2022, his birthday.

Helao Nafidi is a town in Ohangwena Region in northern Namibia at the border to Angola. It has been established in 2004 as an amalgamation of several villages and settlements along the main road between Oshikango and Ohangwena which are both also part of the town. Helao Nafidi has 19,375 inhabitants. The town is separated into three urban areas, Oshikango in the north, bisected by the Namibian–Angolan border, and Omafo and Ohangwena south of it, with settlements and villages in the agricultural area between them.

Lieutenant General Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah is a Namibian diplomat and military commander. He was the chief of the Namibia Defence Force (NDF) from 24 January 2011 to 31 December 2013.

Edundja Junior Secondary School is a school in the Ohangwena Region of northern Namibia. It is located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) east of Oshikango, the nearest town, and 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of the Angolan border, 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Ondangwa. It is currently a junior secondary school, but it will become a full secondary school in a few years. There are about 250 students that attend Edundja. There 9 classes, ranging from grade 8 to grade 10.

Odibo is a village in the north of Namibia close to the Angolan border known for its Anglican mission St Mary. It belongs to the Oshikango electoral constituency in the Ohangwena Region. Odibo is also an Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Namibia.

Ongha Secondary School is a secondary school in the Ohangwena Region of Namibia. The school celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018.
