Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology (OSISATECH) is a privately owned polytechnic in Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria established in 1989. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

History

It was founded by the Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Edeh, who also founded secondary schools and the Madonna University, Okija Campus, Elele Campus, Enugu Campus, Anambra State, Caritas University, Amorji-Nike Enugu. [6] The institution was one of the few privately owned schools to take advantage of a 1993 decree that spelled out criteria for official recognition of private universities, polytechnics and colleges of education, during a window when the government was issuing approvals. [7]

In a ranking by the National Commission for Colleges of Education of performance in the 1999/2000 academic year of 75 federal, state and privately owned colleges, the institute was at the foot of the list. In November 2012, OSISATECH College of Education received an award for Teachers Development in Nigeria. It was given by NCCE. [8] In December 2009, Emmanuel Edeh was honoured with the African Film Festival and Academy Award in London. [9]

Madonna University, Elele

Madonna University is the first catholic university in Nigeria. It is accredited by National Universities Commission. Madonna University Nigeria has three campuses that are located in Elele - Rivers State, Okija - Anambra State and Akpugo - Enugu State. The campuses have different Faculties with Departments. Umaru Musa Yaradua University

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU), formerly Katsina State University, was established by the Katsina State Government in 2006, to "serve as a nucleus for socio-economic, technological and political development of the State by producing highly skilled human resource through conventional face-to-face and distance learning modes." Umaru Musa Yar'adua, then the executive governor of Katsina State and later the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, began the work of creating the university before his death in 2010.

Western Delta University is located in Oghara, Delta State, Nigeria. It was established in 2007 and is a private university.

The Imo State University (IMSU) in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria was established in 1981 through law No. 4 passed by the Imo State House of Assembly. The university admitted the first intake of 392 pioneer students on 23 October 1981.

Dorben Polytechnic has its main campus located in Garam, Niger State, Nigeria, and another campus just to the north in Suleja, Niger State. It is usually addressed as Dorben Polytechnic (Bwari) Abuja, since it originally had its main campus in Bwari, Abuja. The Polytechnic, Ibadan is an institution of higher learning in Ibadan in Oyo State, Nigeria. Founded in 1970, Poly Ibadan is similar to other polytechnics in Nigeria. The institution was established to provide an alternative higher education to universities, particularly in technical skill acquisition. The viocational and skills acqusition center is poised to ensure that students master a skill before leaving the institution and also provides skills training to the host community. Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka is a Nigerian technical tertiary institution located in Akoka, a suburb of Yaba in Lagos. Founded in 1967 by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the institution was founded with the aim of "grooming and producing teachers in technical, vocational and commercial academic disciplines". Federal College of Education Abeokuta (FCEA), is a public institution authorized with issuance of National Certificate in Education (NCE) to successful graduating students. It was founded in 1976 at Osiele, Ogun State, south west Nigeria. The current provost is Dr. A. A Ajayi. Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo was established on 5 October 1977 as Federal Advanced Teacher's college (Special). The institution, according to a UNDP/UNESCO 1996 report (NIR/87/008) "... Has the best qualified Staff in Special Education not only in Nigeria but in West, North, East and Central Africa." The College is the only one of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. It has the largest conglomeration of handicapped students that could be found in any Higher institution in Nigeria and the largest concentration of specialized facilities for teaching and training of teachers of the Handicapped in Nigeria. During its 40th anniversary celebrations, the college gave special recognition award to former President Olusegun obasanjo whose military administration brought about the upgrading of the institution from the then Federal Advanced Teachers College to a College of Education with the mandate to award the National Certificate of Education in 1977.

Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze Federal tertiary institution in Anambra State, Nigeria

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze is a Nigerian technical tertiary institution located in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. It is affiliated to Nnamdi Azikiwe University for its degree programmes.

Federal College of Education, Zaria is a College of science and art based in Zaria, Nigeria, and established by the Government of Nigeria. It was formerly known as Advanced Teachers’ College Zaria. The institution was initially located at the present site of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic (Annex) before it was moved to Gyallesu, opposite Ahmadu Bello University, Congo in 1973.

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba is a federal government higher education institution located in Asaba City, Delta State, Nigeria. It is affiliated to University of Benin (Nigeria) for its degree programmes. The college began in 1987 at the former Asaba technical College, (ATC) at its temporary site. Asaba is a rapidly developing Urban Centre and the administrative headquarters of Delta State.

Federal College of Education, Kano is a college of art and Sciences based in Kano State. It was established by the Northern Region Government of Nigeria in collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 1961 as Advance Training College Kano.
