Singapore participated at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha under the IOC country code SIN. It sent its largest contingent since participating in the Asian Games in 1951, with 215 members: 134 athletes and 81 officials. The contingent was led by Chef-de-Mission Annabel Pennefather and the flag-bearer was sailor Tay Junhao Roy.
Spell Cast is a spelling game show in Singapore that featured children between the ages of nine and twelve. Season one aired between 5 June 2007 - 31 July 2007 and season two started airing in January 2010. It was hosted by Shane Mardjuki in its first season and by Sarah Tan in its second season. There were major changes to the game show for its second season, changes included game format and the programme being shifted from Channel 5 to Okto.
Ong Ka Chuan is a Malaysian politician and was the Member of Parliament for Tanjung Malim, Perak from March 2008 to May 2018. Ong was the secretary-general for twice for the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), a component party of the Barisan Nasional coalition. He is also a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN coalition, was member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition and was member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He is also the State Chairman of BERSATU and PN of Pahang.

GeTai Challenge 2015(Chinese: 歌台星力量; pinyin: Gē Tái Xīng Lìliàng) is the first season of Singaporean singing reality competition GeTai Challenge that premiered on 25 May 2015 and run for 13 weeks, with the finals taped at Resorts World Sentosa on 13 August 2015 and ended on 17 August 2015. The competition features Getai singers from all across Singapore competing out for the title of GeTai Challenge winner. The show was hosted by Pornsak and Wang Weiliang, and guest host Shane Pow on two performance shows at Yishun.
Ahmad Najib bin Aris was a Malaysian convicted murderer who in 2003 raped and killed Canny Ong, a US-based Malaysian information technology (IT) analyst. The crime made headlines across Malaysia. He was sentenced to death in 2005 after being found guilty in a highly reported trial, and throughout the next 11 years, he made multiple failed appeals against his sentence and was finally executed on 23 September 2016, more than 13 years after murdering Ong. Ahmad Najib was also alleged to have committed at least four charges of rape on four different women, but was not formally charged.
