PDP Cares Foundation, Inc., otherwise known as PDP (Pilipino Dapat Paglingkuran) CARES, is a non-stock, non-profit organization duly organized under the laws of the Philippines and is registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 27, 2018 and has established chapters in the National Capital Region.

Positions

All the officers and members of the organization adhere to the following principles:

1. Promote, advance, and protect the well-being of Filipinos, in general.

2. Develop, enhance, and improve access to facilities and services especially among poor people in both urban and rural barangays.

3. Protect our natural resources.

Electoral history

2022 elections

After gaining accreditation from the Commission on Elections, [1] PDP Cares made their first attempt to seek a party-list representation in the Philippine House of Representatives with Kathryna Yu-Pimentel, wife of incumbent senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel, as their first nominee. [2] They did not win a seat.

Aquilino Martin de la Llana Pimentel III, commonly known as Koko Pimentel, is a Filipino politician and lawyer currently serving as a Senator of the Philippines. He was the 28th Senate President of the Philippines from 2016 to 2018. He is also the current National Chairman of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP–Laban). As the eldest son and third child of the former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel Jr., he is the first child of a previous Senate president to hold the office. Pimentel was one of the first ranking public officials who drew flak for breaching COVID-19 quarantine protocols in the Philippines.

2021 PDP–Laban dispute Internal struggles within the Philippines ruling party

A dispute within the PDP–Laban, the ruling party of the Philippines, began on March 12, 2021 when Senator Manny Pacquiao began to criticize President Rodrigo Duterte and the government regarding the dispute in the South China Sea, alleged corruption in the government agencies under the Duterte administration, the government handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the endorsement of the candidates for the 2022 presidential election, leading to the creation of two factions.

The 2022 presidential campaign of Manny Pacquiao formally began on October 1, 2021, when he filed his candidacy for the 2022 Philippine presidential election.

The party of President Rodrigo Duterte, PDP–Laban, had two candidates to succeed the head executive. These were senators Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa and Christopher "Bong" Go who had non-simultaneous presidential campaigns.
