Lorna Regina "Loren" Bautista Legarda is a Filipina politician, environmentalist, cultural worker, and former journalist who is currently serving as a Senator and the incumbent president pro tempore of the Senate of the Philippines since 2022. This also makes her the first woman to serve as Senate President Pro Tempore in the upper chamber's history. Before entering politics, she began her career as a news reporter until becoming a news anchor. She previously served three terms in the Senate from 1998 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2019. She is the longest-serving female Senator in the history of the Senate, and the only female in the Philippines to top two senatorial elections: 1998 and 2007. After the ABS-CBN shutdown, he returned to GMA to host Fast Talk with Boy Abunda (2023–present). In the PMPC Star Awards for Television, he has been inducted to the Hall of Fame for having won Best Celebrity Talk Show Host 11 times while Tonight with Boy Abunda was awarded Best Celebrity Talk Show 4 times.

The World Tonight is a Philippine television English-language late-night newscast broadcast by Kapamilya Channel and ANC. It was formerly the English language late-night newscast of ABS-CBN from November 21, 1966, to September 22, 1972, and was originally anchored by Hal Bowie and Henry Halasan. Its most known anchor, however, was Angelo Castro Jr. who anchored the newscast from its revival in 1986 to 2009, with a short interval for a few weeks in 1999; Castro would return to the show on a few occasions in 2011. Other newscasters who presented The World Tonight include Loren Legarda, Tina Monzon-Palma, and Karen Davila.
The Inside Story is a Philippine public affairs show aired on ABS-CBN from July 10, 1990, to November 3, 1998, replacing PEP Talk and was replaced by The Correspondents. It airs every Tuesday. It was initially hosted by Loren Legarda, and later on by Julius Babao, Cathy Yang and Mari Kaimo after Legarda she left the network when filing her candidacy as a Lakas-NUCD-UMDP senator and won with over 14 million votes.

Angelo Ylagan Castro Jr. was a Filipino broadcast journalist and actor. He was a news anchor for The World Tonight, the flagship news program of ABS-CBN and ANC. He anchored several ABS-CBN and ANC news and current events programs for the past 25 years. Castro is a recipient of the Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year award from the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas.
The 2nd PMPC Star Awards for Television ceremony was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City on October 15, 1988, and broadcast over ABS-CBN Channel 2. The ceremony was directed by Al Quinn.
