PES Society is an eSports organization founded in 2013, competing and promoting the Pro Evolution Soccer series. The organization as of January 2020 announced its affiliation to Mind Sports South Africa who is nationally recognized, as the controlling body for eSports.
PES Society was constituted in 2013, however, it was not until November 2019 that the PES Society formed with a committee formally announced. When the organization started, the goal was just to host Pro Evolution Soccer tournaments due to a lack of them in and around Cape Town with the aim of showing players that there was a platform for Pro Evolution Soccer players to compete on. The goal was to do more within – and outside – the gaming community, to show the positive impact gaming was making within communities. As of January 2020, PES Society formed its office bearers and announced its very own constitution as part of its application to affiliate with Mind Sports South Africa. [1]

PES Society as of 15th September 2020, announced its plans to expand into other countries on the African continent. The structure which would be similar to that of the existing South African PES Society organisation.

Esports, short for electronic sports, is a form of competition using video games. Esports often takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams.
Morabaraba is a traditional two-player strategy board game played in South Africa and Botswana with a slightly different variation played in Lesotho. The game is known by many names in many languages, including mlabalaba, mmela, muravava, and umlabalaba. The game is similar to twelve men's morris, a variation on the Roman board game nine men's morris.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is the ninth football video game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series. The game was developed and published by Konami for release on Sony's PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable; Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Windows; Nintendo's Wii; and mobile phones.
Organised Chaos, was a monthly LAN Party held in Cape Town, South Africa at the Sunningdale Sports Complex as well as other venues in both Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth. The LAN has a current capacity of 540 after moving away from the Bellville Velodrome in April 2012. The largest LAN Party held by Organised Chaos was in December 2010 at the Bellville Velodrome with a total of 1263 attendees. Its main organizers are Dietmar Rheeder-Kleist, Lance Aylward and Kyra Rheeder-Kleist. It is currently the largest monthly gaming event and LAN party in Africa
The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) is a South Korean body established to manage esports in South Korea. It is a member of the Korean Olympic Committee and the International e-Sports Federation. As of June 2012, it was the managing body for 25 e-sports in the country, including Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. KeSPA also hosts the KeSPA Cup, a yearly tournament event for some of their games.
The Namibian Electronic Sports Association (NESA) is the governing and representative body for Electronic Sports in Namibia. It was founded in 2010, and affiliated to IeSF in 2011 as the third country from Africa to obtain membership after South Africa and Egypt. NESA organises various esports leagues and the Namibian National esports team. In 2012 it was closed due to lack of community interest and participation. It was re-opened in 2013 by the original founders and select members from the community. The first formal National Team was selected in 2014 for DotA2, called the Desert Sidewinders. NESA has since awarded National Colours via the Namibian Sports Commission annually and expanded on the number of National titles hosted per year. In 2017 NESA sent the very first Namibian esports athlete abroad to participate in Tekken7 at the IESF World Championship held in Busan, South Korea. More Namibian athletes has since then been sent to partake in the annual IESF World Championship and numerous online international test matches are hosted each year.
eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer, known as eFootball World Soccer Winning Eleven in Japan, is a series of association football simulation video games developed by Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. and published by Konami.
The video games sector in South Africa is one of the largest video games markets and Esports scenes in Africa. The video games sector has overtaken the South African market in movies and music in market value and is still rapidly increasing. In 2016 the South African games industry advocacy group, Interactive Entertainment South Africa, stated that the video game market in the country was worth R2.2 billion whilst the domestic games industry was worth R58 million in 2014. A 2021 study by Newzoo and Carry1st estimates that 40% of sub-Saharan Africa's video game playing population were located in South Africa.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 is an association football video game developed and published by Konami for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and Xbox 360 in 2013. The cover art for the game was the first in the series not to feature a football player since Pro Evolution Soccer 3 was released in 2003, although a later version was released with football players on the cover. PES 2014 was the last game to be released on the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable in Europe. It was succeeded by Pro Evolution Soccer 2015.

PES 2016 was succeeded by Pro Evolution Soccer 2017.
Virtus.pro (VP) is an international esports organization founded in 2003 in Russia and acquired by Armenian investors in 2022. The organization has players competing in such games as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG Mobile, and Warface.

The game is the 16th installment in the Pro Evolution Soccer series. It was released in September 2016 and is compatible with PS4 Pro console.
The esports department of Panathinaikos was established on 29 December 2016. In order to launch the team, the club partnered with CowboyTV, a local game tournament organiser and owner of professional eSports team Void Gaming. The latter will remain active as the youth academy and official scrim partner of the club for League of Legends.

It is the 18th installment in the PES series and was released on 28 August 2018 in North America and on 30 August 2018 in Japan, Europe, and Australia. During that time, Philippe Coutinho, as a winger for FC Barcelona, appeared on the cover of the standard edition, while David Beckham appeared on the front cover of the legend edition. Scottish clubs Celtic and Rangers have been brought to the game along with their stadiums, such as the Old Firm derby. This was the final installment in the franchise to be branded as just PES, following the decision to rebrand it eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer, starting with the 2019 edition, EFootball PES 2020, and then just simply as eFootball.
Professional StarCraft II competition features professional gamers competing in Blizzard Entertainment's real-time strategy game StarCraft II. Professional play began following the game's initial release in 2010, as the game was the sequel to StarCraft, considered one of the first esports and the foundation of South Korea's interest and success in competitive gaming. Between 2016 and 2019, competition was centered around the Global StarCraft II League in Korea and the World Championship Series Circuit everywhere else, with all Blizzard-sanctioned events being under the StarCraft II World Championship Series (WCS) banner. Since 2020, Blizzard changed the format of WCS by entering into a three-year partnership with esports organizers ESL and DreamHack.
Ankur Diwakar better known by his alias Jauntytank, is an Indian professional esports player. He is the winner of UCypher MTV India Season 1 tournament in India. He represented India in Asian Games 2018 and won the South Asian Championship.
eFootball PES 2020 is a football simulation video game developed by PES Productions and published by Konami for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, and IOS. The game is the 19th installment in the eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer series and was launched worldwide on 10 September 2019 and in Japan on 12 September 2019.
The Call of Duty League (CDL) is a professional esports league for the video game series Call of Duty, produced by its publisher Activision. The Call of Duty League follows the model of the Overwatch League as well as other traditional North American professional sporting leagues by using a set of permanent, city-based teams backed by separate ownership groups. In addition, the league plays in a tournament point system and playoffs format rather than the use of promotion and relegation used commonly in other esports and non-North American leagues, with players on the roster being assured a minimum annual salary, benefits, and a portion of winnings and revenue-sharing based on how that team performs. The League was announced in 2019 with its inaugural season starting in 2020.
